Introduction About CUTEL A TABLET
CUTEL A TABLET is used in the management of hypertension. It is preferably used when treatment with single BP medicines does not provide adequate control in blood pressure.
It contains a combination of two medicines, namely Amlodipine and Telmisartan which works by relaxing the blood vessels supplying the heart and other organs which reduces the strain on the heart and decreases blood pressure.
Take CUTEL A TABLET under medical supervision. It can be taken with or without meals. Do not take alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking CUTEL A TABLET, as it could severely decrease your blood pressure.
Before taking CUTEL A TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver disease, kidney disease or any other heart conditions apart from hypertension such as heart failure, etc. You must also inform your doctor if have diabetes, swelling of body parts or any other pre-existing medical conditions.
Do not take CUTEL A TABLET without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant and breastfeeding as a precaution. The most common side effects of taking CUTEL A TABLET are dizziness, tiredness, sleepiness, sudden drop in blood pressure with fainting, racing heartbeat, and flushing or redness of face and neck. Talk to your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.

How CUTEL A TABLET Works
CUTEL A TABLET is a combination of two medications namely, amlodipine and telmisartan. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing the blood vessels and improving blood flow by preventing calcium from entering the muscles of the heart and arteries, which helps to lower blood pressure. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), which blocks the hormone angiotensin II, preventing it from tightening blood vessels. This also helps relax the blood vessels and reduce blood pressure. Together, these two drugs provide better control of high blood pressure.
How to use CUTEL A TABLET
- Take CUTEL A TABLET as directed by your doctor
- Generally, they are taken once a day, preferably at the same time each day
- Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
- It can be taken with or without food
- Do not skip doses or stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, as this could affect your blood pressure management
- Always follow your doctor’s advice for the best results

Pregnancy
ContraindicatedStudies have shown that telmisartan can harm the growing baby. Therefore, the combination of amlodipine and telmisartan is not preferrable for use in pregnant women. Women of childbearing potential must avoid getting pregnant while taking CUTEL A TABLET.

Breastfeeding
ContraindicatedStudies have shown that the combination of amlodipine and telmisartan may pass through breast milk. Therefore, it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

Driving and Using Machines
Use with CautionDo not drive or handle heavy tools or machines if your ability is affected by CUTEL A TABLET.

Alcohol
Consult your doctorAvoid consumption of alcohol while taking CUTEL A TABLET as it could make your dizzier.

Kidney

Liver

Use with CautionCUTEL A TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or more), especially if suffering from kidney problems.
Others
Before taking CUTEL A TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- Have diabetes
- Have edema (swelling of hands and legs)
- Have high potassium levels in blood
- Are on low-sodium diet
- Are dehydrated due to vomiting, diarrhoea or high fever
