    Introduction About COSCOPIN PAEDIATRIC SUSPENSION

    COSCOPIN Suspension (Pediatrics) is a cough suppressant used in children (aged <1 year – 12 years) to provide relief from repeated uncontrollable cough associated with common cold and mucus.

    It contains a combination of noscapine, sodium citrate and ammonium chloride which works by suppressing the cough centres of the nervous system (medulla oblongata) and facilitates the expulsion of accumulated mucus (phlegm) from the airways.

    Administer COSCOPIN Suspension (Pediatrics) to your child as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Measure the required quantity of the medicine in the measuring cup provided with the package and make your child drink it immediately. If there is no improvement in the symptoms even after using this medicine for more than 7 days, consult your doctor for advice.

    Before administering COSCOPIN Suspension (Pediatrics) to your child inform your doctor if your child has porphyria or any other pre-existing medical condition. The most common side effects of using COSCOPIN Suspension (Pediatrics) are dizziness and drowsiness. Consult your doctor if it troubles your child.

    How COSCOPIN PAEDIATRIC SUSPENSION Works

    COSCOPIN Suspension (Pediatrics) contains a combination of three medicines, namely noscapine, sodium citrate and ammonium chloride. Noscapine is a non-sedating opioid medicine that suppress cough by blocking the cough centres in the medulla oblongata.

    Sodium Citrate and Ammonium chloride are expectorants. They facilitate the expulsion of phlegm (cold/mucus) from the respiratory tract which clears airway congestion. Together they provide relief from repeated, tickling cough associated with mucus.

    How to use COSCOPIN PAEDIATRIC SUSPENSION

    Administer COSCOPIN Suspension (Pediatrics) to your child as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Measure the required quantity of the medicine in the measuring cup provided with the package and make your child drink it immediately.

    Your doctor will decide the correct duration of therapy of this medicine based on your child’s age, body weight and health condition.
