    Introduction About CORECTIA M TABLET

    CORECTIA M TABLET contains a combination of Metformin and Myo Inositol, which belong to groups of medicines called antidiabetic agents and nutritional supplements, respectively. It is used in the management of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a hormonal disorder among women of reproductive age that causes the ovaries to enlarge, which manages the release of eggs at regular intervals. The symptoms may include menstrual irregularity, excess hair growth, acne, weight gain, etc.

    While taking CORECTIA M TABLET, your doctor will monitor your blood sugar level, and kidney functions at regular intervals. During the course of management with CORECTIA M TABLET, your doctor may advise regular monitoring of blood sugar levels and kidney function. Before taking CORECTIA M TABLET, inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, lung, or heart problems or should undergo any surgery. Do not consume alcohol while taking CORECTIA M TABLET as it can worsen the side effects.

    Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking this medicine. CORECTIA M TABLET is not recommended for use by children. The most common side effects of taking CORECTIA M TABLET are nausea, changes in taste, diarrhoea, dizziness, stomach pain, and loss of appetite.

    How CORECTIA M TABLET Works

    CORECTIA M TABLET is a drug that combines metformin and myo-inositol. Metformin enhances the body's sensitivity to insulin by decreasing the level of circulating insulin and producing a positive effect on the accumulated adipose (fat) tissue. Myo-inositol works by reducing insulin resistance and regulating hormonal imbalances. These types of actions aid in the control of polycystic ovarian syndrome symptoms and the regulation of the menstrual cycle. 

    How to use CORECTIA M TABLET

    Take CORECTIA M TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of CORECTIA M TABLET

    Stop taking CORECTIA M TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of lactic acidosis (vomiting, stomachache, muscle cramps, tiredness, difficulty breathing, reduced body temperature) as this condition may lead to coma
    • Changes in liver function tests or signs of inflamed liver hepatitis (tiredness, loss of appetite, weight loss, with or without yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Diarrhea

    Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice, to keep yourself hydrated. Consult your doctor if your symptoms don’t improve.

    Loss Of Appetite

    Eat when you are hungry. Eat a nutritious snack rich in calories and protein, such as dried fruit and nuts. If your symptoms do not improve, see your doctor. 

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If your symptoms do not improve, consult your doctor.

    Stomach Pain

    Try to have smaller and more frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, consult your doctor.

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking CORECTIA M TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • medicines used to manage high blood pressure (Ex. propranolol, metoprolol)
    • Medicines used in depression management (Ex. fluoxetine, amitriptyline)
    • cholesterol-lowering agents (Ex. cholestyramine)
    • fluorouracil (used in cancer management)
    • sulfasalazine (used to manage stomach or duodenum ulcers)
    • medicines used to relieve pain and inflammation (Ex. ibuprofen, celecoxib)
    • medicine used to manage heart conditions (Ex. digoxin, digitalis)
    • medicines used to provide relief from inflammation (Ex. prednisone, hydrocortisone)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of CORECTIA M TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are lactic acidosis (vomiting, stomachache, muscle cramps, tiredness, difficulty breathing, reduced body temperature and heartbeat) as this condition may lead to coma.
