    Q: How Does COFDEX SYRUP Work?

    A: COFDEX SYRUP is a combination of three active ingredients bromhexine, dextromethorphan, and ammonium chloride. Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent which relieves cough by thinning and loosening the phlegm from the airways and facilitating its removal. Dextromethorphan is an antitussive medicine that suppresses the cough center of the brain responsible for the cough. Ammonium chloride with its irritative action acts on the cells which leads to the production of fluid in the airways that helps in the removal of the phlegm or the cough.

    Q: Is it recommended to take COFDEX SYRUP at night?

    A: Cough suppressants contain dextromethorphan, which tell the brain to stop the coughing reflex. They can make you dizzy and sleepy, which is fine if you are staying in bed, but not so good if you are driving.
