    Introduction About CLENORUSH GEL

    CLENORUSH GEL is a combination of Cetrimide, Choline Salicylate, Clotrimazole and Tannic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiseptics, NSAIDS, Antifungals and Astringents respectively. It is used to manage oral thrush. Oral thrush causes slightly elevated, creamy white painful spots in the mouth or on the tongue and nappy rash in babies.

    Do not use CLENORUSH GEL in patients with bleeding or inflamed skin, history of chronic peptic ulcers, viral infections such as varicella (chicken pox) or influenza, haemophilia (clotting problem), hemorrhagic disorder (bleeding problem), gout. CLENORUSH GEL should be used with caution in patients with asthma, liver and kidney disease, high blood pressure and stomach ulcer or gastritis.

    CLENORUSH GEL is not recommended in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Salicylates excrete in breast milk, and it may affect the baby. Contact your doctor before applying. CLENORUSH GEL is not recommended in infants less than 4 months old. CLENORUSH GEL should be used with caution in elderly patients.

    How CLENORUSH GEL Works

    CLENORUSH GEL is a combination medicine used to manage oral thrush. Cetrimide is an antiseptic, which acts by killing the microorganism. Choline Salicylate is an anti-inflammatory as well as analgesics it relieves pain by inhibiting the prostaglandin synthesis. Clotrimazole is an antifungal that works by destroying the fungus and Tannic acid is an astringent that works by drying up tissues and reducing secretions.

    How to use CLENORUSH GEL

    Apply CLENORUSH GEL as advised by your physician. With a clean finger, massage a small amount of gel into the affected area, not more than every three hours. Depending on your age, body weight, disease condition, your doctor will fix the correct dose and duration for you.

    Side Effects Of CLENORUSH GEL

    Common

    • allergic reactions like skin rashes, red or itchy skin
    • skin irritation
    • stomach pain
    • nausea, vomiting
    • diarrhoea
    • unpleasant taste in mouth

    Rare

    Stop taking CLENORUSH GEL and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • serious allergic reaction such as hives, itching, unusual wheezing, cough, asthma, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, chest tightness, swelling of the face, tongue, and throat

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Diarrhea

    Drink plenty of water and fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Contact your doctor if the diarrhoea did not improve.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. If the nausea and vomiting does not improve, consult your doctor.

    Skin rash Or Itching

    Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Use moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected skin area. Contact your doctor if itching worsens.

    Stomach Pain

    Try to rest and relax. Eat small meals but take them frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Contact your doctor if the stomach pain did not improve.

    Liver

    CLENORUSH GEL should be used with caution in patients with liver disorder. Contact your doctor before applying CLENORUSH GEL.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not apply CLENORUSH GEL if you are allergic to Cetrimide or Choline Salicylate or salicylates, aspirin or other NSAIDs or Clotrimazole or Tannic Acid or to other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    Use with Caution

    CLENORUSH GEL should be used with caution in asthma patients. Contact your doctor before applying CLENORUSH GEL.

    Heart Disease

    Use with Caution

    CLENORUSH GEL should be used with caution in patients with uncontrolled blood pressure. Contact your doctor before applying CLENORUSH GEL.

    Use In Pediatrics

    Contraindicated

    CLENORUSH GEL is not recommended in infants less than 4 months old. Contact your doctor before applying CLENORUSH GEL.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    Others

    CLENORUSH GEL is not recommended for use if you have:

    • bleeding or inflamed skin
    • current or a history of chronic peptic ulcers
    • are already suffering from viral infections such as varicella (chicken pox) or influenza, especially children and adolescents under the age of 16
    • haemophilia (clotting problem)
    • hemorrhagic disorder (bleeding problem)
    • gout

    Before applying CLENORUSH GEL, inform your doctor if you have:

    • stomach ulcer or gastritis

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before applying CLENORUSH GEL inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

    • anticoagulants such as warfarin (medicine used to manage blood clots)
    • aspirin or other salicylates or NSAIDS such as ibuprofen (medicine used to manage pain)
    • uricosurics agents medicine used to excrete uric acid Eg. probenic acid, benzbromarone
    • antacids (medicine used to manage stomach ulcer)
    • corticosteroids (medicine used to reduce inflammation)
    • sofradex ear drops (contains gramicidin, framycetin sulfate, dexamethasone sodium metasulfobenzoate) used to manage otitis externa

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally apply too much of CLENORUSH GEL, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, ringing in the ears, rapid breathing, high temperature, confusion, dehydration, confusion, dizziness, coma, and/or convulsions, gastrointestinal bleeding, acid-base imbalance.
