Introduction About CAZIQ BUCCAL PASTE
CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste provides relief from mouth ulcers (canker sores or oral sores) and other forms of oral inflammation and ulcerative lesions. It contains triamcinolone as an active ingredient which is a corticosteroid medicine with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It works by blocking the release of certain chemicals within the body that triggers ulcer formation.
Gently apply a small amount of CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste on the affected area of your mouth using a clean finger. Do not rub the paste in the oral cavity. CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste is for oral topical use only. Do not apply in your skin, eyes or any other body cavities.
Apply CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste to the affected areas after meals or at bedtime. Do not eat or drink immediately after applying CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste. If there is no improvement in your condition even after using this medicine for more than 2 weeks, consult your doctor for advice.
CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste is not recommended for use in patients with fungal, viral, or bacterial infections of the mouth or throat, viral infections (such as chickenpox, cold sores, shingles), tuberculosis, diabetes or stomach ulcer. It is unknown whether oral application of triamcinolone leads to sufficient systemic absorption during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Therefore, caution is advised when prescribing CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste to pregnant and nursing women.
The most common side effects of taking CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste are oral irritation, burning sensation, itching or redness after application. Such side effects can be noted only in few individuals, not everyone. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.

Used in the management of:
- Mouth ulcers/Oral sores
- Inflammation of gums, soft palette, or other areas of oral cavity
- Oral inflammation or ulcerations
How CAZIQ BUCCAL PASTE Works
CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste contains triamcinolone as active ingredient which works by suppressing the release of certain inflammatory chemicals and autoimmune substances within the body that triggers mouth ulcers and inflammation of the oral cavity. When applied directly to the mouth's mucous membranes, it provides localized relief from inflammation, pain, and swelling associated with conditions like aphthous ulcers.
How to use CAZIQ BUCCAL PASTE
Gently dab or press a small amount of CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste on the affected area of your mouth using a clean, dry finger or cotton swab. You will notice a smooth, slippery film forming after application. Do not rub the paste in, as it will become crumbly, grainy, or gritty. CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste is for oral topical use only. Do not apply in your skin, eyes or any other parts of the body.
Apply CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily after meals or at bedtime as directed by your doctor or dentist. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration of therapy and frequency of application for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the disease.
Do not rinse your mouth or drink water or any other fluids for at least 30 minutes after applying CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste. Do not apply more than 4 times in 24 hours. Do not use CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor. If there is no improvement in your condition even after using this medicine for more than 2 weeks, consult your doctor for advice.
Side Effects Of CAZIQ BUCCAL PASTE
Common
- Application site reactions (such as burning, itching, irritation, dryness, or redness of the manageed area)
Stop using CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste and consult your doctor immediately, if you experience any of the following side effects:
- allergic reactions
- severe oral irritation after application
- hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression (such as problems in sleeping, tiredness, anxiety, low immunity, feeling sad or depressed, joint pain, low sex drive, tendency to feel cold, and loss of muscle mass and strength)
- Cushing's syndrome (signs include weight gain, a round face, thin arms and legs, increased fat around the base of the neck, a fatty hump between the shoulders, wide purple stretch marks, mainly on the abdomen, breasts, hips, and under the arms and muscle weakness)
- hyperglycemia (increased blood sugar levels)
- glucosuria (sugar in urine)
How To Manage Side Effects

Application Site Reactions
Rinse your mouth with a warm saltwater solution to reduce swelling and kill bacteria. Avoid irritants such as spicy, acidic, or crunchy foods, and opt for soft, soothing foods like yogurt and applesauce. Staying hydrated and avoiding tobacco and alcohol can also help. Over-the-counter pain relievers can alleviate pain, and applying a cold compress to the outside of your mouth may reduce swelling. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor for further evaluation.
Warning & Precautions

Pregnancy
Consult your doctorThere are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the use of triamcinolone acetonide dental paste in pregnant women. However, a retrospective analysis conducted in pregnant women using similar corticosteroid medicines, showed a risk of birth defects (cleft palate) in growing fetus. Therefore, CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks to the fetus.

Breastfeeding
Consult your doctorIt is unknown whether oral application of triamcinolone leads to sufficient systemic absorption to be present in breast milk. Therefore, caution is advised when prescribing CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste to nursing women.

Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not use CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste if you are allergic to triamcinolone.

Use In Pediatrics
Consult your doctorThe safety and efficacy of triamcinolone oral paste in children is unknown. Therefore, CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste should be used in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) only if prescribed by the physician.

Use In Geriatrics
Consult your doctorThe safety and efficacy of triamcinolone oral paste in elderly patients is unknown. Therefore, CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste should be used in elders only if prescribed by the physician.
Others
CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste is not recommended for use in patients with:

Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
When used as an oral paste/lotion, triamcinolone is unlikely to cause interactions with other medications. However, it is better to inform your doctor if you are taking any other concomitant medications before starting therapy with CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste
Overdosage:
If you have applied too much of CAZIQ BUCCAL Paste, rinse your mouth with water. Consult your doctor if you experience any side effects.
