Introduction About CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES
CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES contains Clotrimazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungals. It is used in the management of candidal vaginitis. Candidal vaginitis is an infection caused by a type of fungi called yeast that affects the female genital organs such as the vagina and vulva the outer region of the vagina.
Candidal vaginitis causes itching in the vagina and areas surrounding it, abnormally smelly discharge, pain during intercourse and painful urination. Pregnant women, women using contraceptives, women with weakened immune systems recently managed with antibiotics and diabetic women are highly susceptible to this infection. Do not use tampons, intravaginal douches, spermicides or other vaginal products while using CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during the management.
CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES is not recommended for use in patients with irregular vaginal bleeding, abnormal vaginal bleeding like a blood discharge, ulcers, blisters or sores in the vagina, lower stomach pain, fever, shivering, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, a smell in the vaginal discharge or a menstrual period. CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES should be used with caution in patients who have had fungal infections twice in the last six months or who have ever had a sexually transmitted disease or had sexual contact with a patient who has a sexually transmitted disease.
In pregnant and breastfeeding women, CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES should be used with caution. Kindly consult your doctor before using it. CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES should not be used by children under the age of 16. In elderly patients over the age of 60, CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES should be used with caution. The common side effects of CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES are burning, stinging, swelling and irritation sensations in the vagina.

How CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES Works
CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES works by managing fungal growth. Clotrimazole works by blocking the production of enzymes responsible for the growth of fungal cells. This inhibition results in the breakage of cell membranes and fungal cell abnormalities, finally leading to alterations in the membrane-based activity of fungus. These lead to fungal cell death and the management of further fungal growth.
How to use CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES
Use CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES as advised by your physician. It is for vaginal use only. Do not swallow the medicine. CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES should be inserted into the vagina, as high as possible, using the applicator provided which is best achieved when lying back with legs bent up. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition. If you have any doubts regarding the doses, consult your doctor.

Common
- mild burning or irritation after inserting CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES
- skin peeling on genitals
- severe itching, rashes
- swelling of body parts
- discomfort, burning sensation, irritation or pain in the pelvic region
- unusual vaginal bleeding, stomach pain
Rare
Stop using this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- allergic reaction symptoms include swelling of the lips, throat or tongue, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, weakness, feeling dizzy or faint, nausea, low blood pressure, rash
- intolerable itching, rash, swelling, redness, discomfort, burning, irritation, vaginal peeling, discharge or bleeding
- pain (Ex. abdominal pain, vulvovaginal pain)

Some diet and lifestyle changes can help with stomach pain. Eat smaller portions of your meal. Chew your food well and eat slowly. Avoid foods that cause gas or indigestion. Avoid consuming alcohol and caffeine. Avoid sitting idle or lying down after having your meal; it’s better to go for a walk. If symptoms do not improve, consult your doctor.

- have fever or shivering
- have nausea, vomiting
- have diarrhoea
- have smelled vaginal discharge
- have a menstrual period
Before taking CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES inform your doctor if you:
- have been diagnosed with fungal infections twice in the last six months
- have or ever had a sexually transmitted disease or had sexual contact with a sexually transmitted disease patient
Use in Paediatrics:
CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES should be used with caution in children and adolescents below 16 years of age. Consult your doctor before using it.
Use in Geriatrics:
CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES should be used with caution in elderly people above 60 years. Consult your doctor before taking it.

A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before using CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- medicines used after an organ transplant Ex. tacrolimus, sirolimus
- latex contraceptives (condoms or diaphragms) used for safe sex and to manage pregnancy
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally used more of CANSOFT 100MG PESSARIES, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms include dizziness, nausea or vomiting.
