    Introduction About CANDID CL GEL

CANDID CL GEL is a combination of Clindamycin and Clotrimazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Antifungal agents respectively. It is used to manage vaginal (genital) infections (Ex. vaginal candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis and mixed vaginal infections). It can also reduce vaginal itching and irritation caused due to infections. and

CANDID CL GEL is meant for intravaginal use only. Carefully apply the medicine deep into the vagina as far as possible. Wash your hands before and after application. Closely follow the dose-related instructions given by your doctor to achieve better results. Skipping doses in between the therapy or stopping the therapy without consulting your doctor may not result in adequate infection control.

While using CANDID CL GEL, do not engage in vaginal intercourse or use any vaginal products (such as tampons or douches). This medicine may weaken condoms and diaphragms. Therefore, choose an alternative method for contraception.

Before using CANDID CL GEL inform your doctor if you have diabetes, weak immune system or any stomach problems (such as colitis). You must also inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or currently having periods before using CANDID CL GEL as a precaution.

CANDID CL GEL is generally safe and well tolerated with fewer side effects like mild vaginal itching or irritation, vaginal discharge and mild diarrhea. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.

    Uses Of CANDID CL GEL

    • Manage vaginal (genital) infections
    • Reduces vaginal itching and irritation caused due to infections

    How CANDID CL GEL Works

CANDID CL GEL is effective in managing both bacterial and fungal genital infections. It works by killing the susceptible microorganism that causes infection within the body. It contains two medicines namely clindamycin and clotrimazole.

Clindamycin is an antibacterial agent. It blocks the production of certain bacterial proteins which is essential for the bacteria to survival. This action manages the further growth and multiplication of bacteria within the body

Clotrimazole is an antifungal agent. It blocks the production of certain chemicals (ergosterol) within the fungal cell which is essential for its survival. This action kills the susceptible fungi and manages the further spread of infection.

How to use CANDID CL GEL

Apply CANDID CL GEL as directed by your physician. It should be used only in and around the vagina or the genital area. CANDID CL GEL comes in a tube along with an applicator. Remove the cap from the tube and connect the nozzle end of the applicator with the tube.

Gently squeeze the sufficient medicine from the tube into the applicator. The marking present in the applicator may help you to measure the correct dosage as instructed by your doctor.

Remove the applicator from the tube and lie down on your back with legs wide apart. Gently insert the applicator into the vagina.  Press the plunger present in the applicator downwards to release the medicine in the vagina.

Remove the applicator from the vagina after application. To cleanse the applicator, pull the plunger outside and wash it with mild soap and warm water.

If you want to apply CANDID CL GEL to the external parts of vagina, take the required quantity of CANDID CL GEL and apply it at the required sites of the genital area (such as vulva, labia minora, clitoris and vaginal orifice).

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition.
