A: CALCRETE SYRUP contains Alprazolam, which belongs to the group of medicines called anxiolytics. It is used in adults to manage generalized anxiety disorder (chronic feeling of anxiety or nervousness) and panic disease with or without agoraphobia (fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment). Panic disorder is a kind of anxiety disorder that causes sudden attacks of panic or fear.

A: CALCRETE SYRUP is an anxiolytic medicine. It increases the activity of certain chemicals (GABA) within the brain, which reduces nervousness and induces sedation. It also relaxes your muscles and induces calmness, which helps in the management of panic disorders.

A: The most common side effects of this medicine are depression, sleepiness and drowsiness, jerky, uncoordinated movements, failure to remember bits of information, slurred speech, dizziness, light-headedness, headaches, constipation, dry mouth, tiredness, and irritability.

A: No. CALCRETE SYRUP cannot be used in children and adolescents below 18 years of age because safety and efficacy in this population have not been established. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.

A: Do not consume alcohol during management with CALCRETE SYRUP, as alcohol increases the effects of the medicine. CALCRETE SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with a history of alcohol abuse. Consult your doctor for advice.
