Introduction About CADOMER OINTMENT
CADOMER OINTMENT contains Cadexomer Iodine which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-Bacterial agents. It is used for the management of chronic exuding wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers and infected traumatic and surgical wounds.
CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use if you have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (underactive thyroid), non-toxic nodular goitre (enlargement of thyroid gland) and history of grave’s disease (overactive thyroid). Consult your doctor before applying it.
CADOMER OINTMENT should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor before applying it.
CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before applying it.
CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Inform your doctor if you experience any side effects after applying CADOMER OINTMENT.

How CADOMER OINTMENT Works
CADOMER OINTMENT is an antibacterial agent works by killing the bacteria which helps to cleans the wound, reduces pain and speeds up the healing process.
How to use CADOMER OINTMENT
Always apply CADOMER OINTMENT as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. Clean the wound and surrounding area with sterile water or saline. Do not dry the wound surface. With a gloved finger, apply CADOMER OINTMENT onto a piece of dry sterile gauze, to cover the entire wound to a depth of 3 mm; then place the gauze on the wound.
Place a secondary dressing over the gauze and then lightly run a finger over the dressing to smoothen it out and spread the medicine underneath to the shape of the wound and to a minimum depth of 3 mm.

Pregnancy
CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before applying it.
Breastfeeding
CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women, as it may pass through breastmilk. Consult your doctor before applying it.
Kidney
CADOMER OINTMENT should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor before applying it.
Allergy
Do not apply CADOMER OINTMENT if you are allergic to cadexomer iodine or to iodine or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Others
CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use if you:
- have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (an autoimmune disorder that causes underactive thyroid)
- have non-toxic nodular goitre (enlargement of thyroid gland)
- have history of grave’s disease (an autoimmune disorder that causes overactive thyroid)
Before applying CADOMER OINTMENT inform your doctor if you:

CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age as safety and efficacy are not established. Consult your doctor before applying it.
Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before applying CADOMER OINTMENT inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- lithium (used to manage mania)
- medicines used to manage infections (Ex. taurolidine, mercurochrome and thiomersal)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. In case of excessive topical use of this medicine, the management should be stopped and wound area must be washed and symptomatic management has to be initiated.

Q: How long can I use CADOMER OINTMENT?
A: Always apply CADOMER OINTMENT as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. The duration of management should not exceed 3 months in any single course of management. Q: What are the side effects of using CADOMER OINTMENT?
A: Patients managed with CADOMER OINTMENT may experience a transient stinging pain or pain within the first hour after application. Minor reddening or swelling around the wound may occur without necessarily being an allergic reaction. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
Q: Who should not use CADOMER OINTMENT?
A: CADOMER OINTMENT is not recommended for use in patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (underactive thyroid), non-toxic nodular goitre (enlargement of thyroid gland) and history of grave’s disease (overactive thyroid), allergic history to cadexomer iodine and in children under 12 years of age.
