    Introduction About C POD DT TABLET

    C POD DT TABLET is used to manage infections caused by bacteria such as otitis media (inflammation of middle ear leading to pain and fever), tonsilitis (sore throat, difficulty swallowing and tender lymph nodes), chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the airways present in the lungs leading to cough with mucus), community acquired pneumonia (inflammation of lungs leading to congestion), gonorrhea (sexually transmitted infection in rectum, cervix or vagina), skin structure infections (rashes, swelling, redness, pain, pus, and itching), maxillary sinusitis (inflammation around the nasal cavity leading to headache and runny nose) and cystitis (strong, persistent urge to urinate with burning sensation and blood in the urine).

    It contains a medicine called Cefpodoxime, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that causes the infections.

    C POD DT TABLET should be avoided if you are allergic to cefpodoxime or to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics (such as cefuroxime, cefixime) or if you have experienced an immediate or severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics (such as ampicillin).

    Before taking C POD DT TABLET, inform your doctor if you have or ever had colitis, liver problems, or impaired kidney function. Your doctor may monitor your blood count and liver enzymes through blood tests while taking this medicine.

    C POD DT TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women unless clearly advised by the doctor, and it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

    This medicine is not recommended for use in infants (less than 2 months of age), and it should be used with caution in elderly patients.

    The most common side effects of taking C POD DT TABLET are diarrhea, nausea, itching, and irritation in the vagina and vulva, abdominal pain, and headache. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

    Uses Of C POD DT TABLET

    It is used in adults and adolescents to manage the following bacterial infections:

    • Acute otitis media
    • Pharyngitis and tonsillitis
    • Community-acquired pneumonia
    • Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
    • Uncomplicated urethral and cervical gonorrhea
    • Rectal gonococcal infections in women
    • Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections
    • Acute maxillary sinusitis
    • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (cystitis)

    How C POD DT TABLET Works

    C POD DT TABLET manages infection by stopping or managing the bacteria from multiplying by inhibiting their cell wall formation, which is essential for the bacteria to survive as it provides protection from the environment. This kind of action that kills bacteria is useful in managing various bacterial infections.

    How to use C POD DT TABLET

    • Take this medicine as advised by your physician.
    • For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow C POD DT TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
    • For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse C POD DT TABLET in the specified quantity of water as mentioned on the label. Consume the mixture immediately after reconstitution.
    • Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of C POD DT TABLET

    Common Side Effects of C POD DT TABLET:

    • Diarrhoea
    • Nausea
    • Fungal infection in vagina and vulva (itching and excess discharge)
    • Abdominal pain
    • Headache

    • Severe diarrhea due to pseudomembranous colitis

    • Medicines used to manage indigestion (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, simethicone, omeprazole)
    • Medicines for managing gastric ulcers (Ex. ranitidine, cimetidine)
    • Medicines used to manage high blood pressure or fluid retention (Ex. spironolactone, bumetanide, torsemide)
    • Other medicines used to manage bacterial infections (Ex. gentamicin, streptomycin)
    • Probenecid (used to manage gouty arthritis)
    • Warfarin (used to manage blood clots)
    • Medicines used to manage pregnancy (Ex. ethinyl estradiol, desogestrel)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of C POD DT TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort.
