    Introduction About BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE contains Budesonide which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids. It is used to manage asthma. Asthma is a respiratory disease in which the airways become inflamed, swollen, and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways which makes it difficult for the air to pass through the airways leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty in breathing, chest pain or cough.

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE can also be used to manage croup in infants and in children. Croup is a respiratory infection that causes barking sound in children due to blockage in the upper respiratory tract.

    Budesonide is a steroid medication. It works on the airways and manages the cells present in the airways from releasing certain chemicals that causes inflammation and swelling. As results, it manages asthma attack and improves breathing.

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE is for inhalation use only. Do not stop using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE once your symptoms subside without consulting your doctor. Make sure to rinse your mouth with water after inhaling the medicine to avoid the risk of fungal infections in the oral cavity.

    Before using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE, inform your doctor if you have any lung infections, cold or chest infection. You must also inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE should be used in pregnant women only if considered necessary by the doctor. It should be used with caution in children and in the elderly patients.

    If you experience sudden episodes of breathlessness, wheezing or chest tightness while undergoing therapy with BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE, consult your doctor immediately. Do not stop using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE in the meanwhile.

    During management with BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE, your doctor will periodically monitor your health condition to avoid the risk of side effects. The most common side effects of using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE are oral thrush (fungal infection in the mouth), sore throat and hoarseness of voice.     How BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE Works

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE controls asthma and croup, where budesonide works on the airways and manages the cells present in the airways from releasing certain chemicals that causes inflammation and swelling. As a result, it reduces airway inflammation, manages airways from becoming narrow and improves breathing.

    How to use BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE

    Use BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE only as directed by the physician. It is for inhalation use only. Place the medicine in a suitable device (nebulizer). Adjust the device in such a way that the medicine gets converted into a fine mist. Inhale the fine mist of medicine through the device. Once inhalation is over, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out or brush your teeth.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration of therapy, and frequency of doses for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE without consulting your doctor.

    Side Effects Of BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE

    Common

    • sore throat
    • cough
    • hoarseness of the voice
    • oral thrush (fungal infection of the mouth)
    • lung infection (pneumonia)

    Uncommon

    • feeling depressed, restless, or nervous
    • shivering and shaking
    • Cataracts or blurred vision
    • muscle cramps

    Rare

    • rashes on the face after using the facemask for inhalation
    • difficulty in sleeping
    • feeling very excited or irritation
    • bruising of the skin

    Stop using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • severe allergic reactions (such as difficulty in breathing, wheezing, raised lumps on your skin (weal), skin rashes, itching sensation of the skin, or contact dermatitis (skin problem), swelling of your face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, tightness of the chest, etc.)
    • sudden wheezing
    • blurred vision or any other visual disturbances
    • increased mucus production, cough or breathing difficulties along with fever or chills

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Oral thrush (fungal infection of the mouth):

    Rinse your mouth with water after inhaling the medicine to avoid the risk of fungal infections in the oral cavity. Spit out the rinse water rather than swallowing it. Consult your doctor if the symptom worsens.

    Skin rash:

    Hot showers should be avoided because it can irritate your skin even more. Scratching the affected area is not a good idea. Always wear protective clothing, while going outdoors. Moisturize your skin on a regular basis. Consult your doctor if the symptom worsens.

    Pregnancy

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE should be used in pregnant women only if considered necessary by your doctor. Inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant while using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE.

    Breastfeeding

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. However, consult your doctor before using it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE is unlikely to impair your ability to drive or operate any heavy tools or machinery.

    Liver

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

    Allergy

    Do not take BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE if you are allergic to Budesonide.

    Lungs

    BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE should be used with caution in patients with lung infection, cold or chest infection. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

    Others

    Use in pediatrics:

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before using BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE, inform your doctor if you are using any of the following medicines such as:

    • ketoconazole, itraconazole (used to manage fungal infections)
    • other steroids (such as prednisolone or dexamethasone) used to manage inflammatory conditions
    • ritonavir, cobicistat (used to manage HIV infections)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally inhaled more of BUNASE 0.5MG RESPULE, contact your doctor immediately or go to a hospital immediately if the symptoms worsen.
