    Introduction About BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE is combination of Calcium Carbonate, Elemental magnesium, Elemental zinc, Calcitriol, L Methylfolate, Methylcobalamin, and Vitamin K2-7 which belongs to the group of medicines called Minerals, and Vitamins, respectively. It is used to manage post-menopausal, senile, and steroid induced osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones).

    The medicine is also used to manage osteomalacia (soft bones), renal osteodystrophy (complication of kidney disease), and fractures and is also indicated for use to manage hypoparathyroidism in affected individuals.

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Calcitriol, other vitamin D metabolites (such as alfacalcidol, colecalciferol), and/or any other ingredients of this medicine. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in blood), and/or metastatic calcification (extra deposits of calcium in your body).

    Before taking [GBNKEWYORD], inform your doctor if you are immobilized (due to operation/any other reason), and/or have liver problems (such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease).

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE should be used with caution in pregnant and breast-feeding women only if it is clearly necessary. It is also advised to be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elders (aged 65 years and above) after consulting your doctor.

    The most common side effects of taking BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE are hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in blood), headache, skin rash, excess thirst, nausea. abdominal pain, and/or urinary tract infection. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

    How BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE Works

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE helps to manage osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and fractures, where calcitriol reduces vertebral and hip fractures (in postmenopausal women), calcium carbonate manages weakening of bone by reducing the risk of osteoporosis, elemental zinc & magnesium enhance bone regeneration by improving bone health (through initiation of certain pathways and reducing the activity of bone resorbing cells), methylcobalamin and folic acid reduce risk of hip fracture, and vitamin K2-7 increase healthy bone deposits thus managing osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and fractures in affected individuals.

    How to use BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE

    Take BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE

    Common

    • signs of hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in blood) such as tiredness, weakness, vomiting, excessive urination, high blood pressure
    • headache
    • skin rash
    • excess thirst
    • nausea
    • abdominal pain
    • urinary tract infection

    Uncommon

    • high blood pressure
    • drowsiness
    • high fever
    • anorexia (eating disorder)
    • ophthalmic conditions such as conjunctivitis, photophobia

    Rare

    • signs of hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in blood) such as loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, headache, sluggishness, drowsiness, weakness
    • signs of extreme hypercalcemia (very high calcium levels in blood) such as high fever, thirsty, dehydration, passing more urine, wetting the bed, constipation, stomach pain, blockage of the bowel, irregular heartbeat, urinary bladder infection, restricted growth, and/or mental problems
    • signs of allergic reactions such as itchy skin, skin rashes, and/or reddening of the skin

    Stop taking BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:   

    • signs of severe allergic reactions such as itchy skin, skin rashes, and reddening of the skin

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Headache:

    If BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of taking BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE. If it lasts more than a week or severe, inform your doctor.

    Nausea:

    Try to take BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

    Thirst:

    Try to drink plenty of cold water and sip on cold unsweetened drinks and use lip balm if your lips are dry. Brush your teeth twice a day and use mouthwash. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

    Pregnancy

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy only if it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Driving and Using Machines

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machines. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Kidney

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as renal osteodystrophy. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Liver

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with liver problems such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Allergy

    Do not take BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE if you are allergic to Calcitriol, other vitamin D metabolites (such as alfacalcidol, colecalciferol), and/or any other ingredients of this medicine. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Others

    BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE is not recommended for use if you:

    • have hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in blood)
    • have metastatic calcification (extra deposits of calcium in your body)
    • are unwell due to high levels of vitamin D in your body

    Before taking BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you:

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

    Before taking BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • other medicines containing vitamin D
    • diuretics (medicine used to manage high blood pressure) Ex. bendroflumethiazide, chlortalidone, indapamide
    • digoxin, digitoxin (medicines used to manage heart diseases)
    • medicines containing magnesium such as antacids (medicines used to manage indigestion) Ex. magnesium hydroxide
    • medicines used to manage pain and inflammation such as corticosteroids (Ex. hydrocortisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone)
    • medicine used to manage high levels of blood cholesterol such as ion-exchange resins Ex. cholestyramine
    • phosphate (medicine used to manage certain urinary tract infections)

    B. Drug-Food Interactions:

    Avoid having vitamin D rich foods (such as dairy products like milk, cheese) or fortified foods (eatables to which vitamin D is added) while taking BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE since it may increase the risk of side effects. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of BIO D3 STRONG CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage includes signs of hypercalcemia such as loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, sluggishness, drowsiness, and/or weakness.
