    Introduction About BARKEIT TABLET

    BARKEIT TABLET contains Guaifenesin which belongs to the group of medicines called Expectorants. It helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to rid the bronchial passageway of bothersome mucus and make coughs more productive.

    Before taking BARKEIT TABLET, inform your doctor if you are suffering from cough accompanied by too much of phlegm or from long-lasting cough accompanied by either smoking, asthma, bronchitis or emphysema (shortness of breath).

    BARKEIT TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is not intended to be used in children below 12 years of age. Common side effects of taking BARKEIT TABLET involves nausea, vomiting, headache and skin rash. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms are worsening.

    How BARKEIT TABLET Works

    BARKEIT TABLET helps to thin the mucus, making it easier to cough out the extra mucus and open the airways. It also helps in reducing cough reflex sensitivity and suppressing mucin synthesis.

    How to use BARKEIT TABLET

    Take BARKEIT TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of BARKEIT TABLET

    Common

    • nausea
    • vomiting
    • rashes in skin
    • headache

    Rare

    Stop taking BARKEIT TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • cough that lasts longer than seven days, recurs frequently or is accompanied by a fever, rash or severe headache (signs of severe illness)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea and vomiting:

    Avoid eating fried and greasy food. Take simple, light, small meals at frequent intervals. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of fluids. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.

    Headache:

    Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated. Get adequate rest and sleep. Try to be stress and tension free. Reduce the screen timings. Apply pain balm on forehead if needed. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.

    Pregnancy

    BARKEIT TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women or women planning to have a baby. Consult your doctor before taking BARKEIT TABLET.

    Breastfeeding

    BARKEIT TABLET should be used with caution in breast feeding mothers. Consult your doctor before taking.

    Allergy

    Do not take BARKEIT TABLET if you are allergic to Guaiphenesin or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    BARKEIT TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with cough accompanied by too much sputum like in asthma, bronchitis, bronchiectasis and emphysema (shortness of breath). Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Others

    Before taking BARKEIT TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have long lasting cough due to smoking
    • have cough accompanied by too much phlegm (mucus)

    Use in Paediatrics:

    BARKEIT TABLET is not recommended to use in children below 12 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking.

    Before taking BARKEIT TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking, have taken or might take any other medicines, including prescription, non- prescription or any other herbal or homeopathic medicines.

    Overdosage:
