Introduction About AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX
AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX contains Azithromycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Macrolides. It is used in children to manage infections caused by bacteria and other micro-organisms which include chest, throat, and nasal infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat and sinusitis.
It is also used to manage ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin & soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected children which is also indicated for use to manage sexually transmitted diseases (caused by organisms such as chlamydia trachomatis/ Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the affected child.
AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX is not recommended for use in children allergic to azithromycin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin/clarithromycin (macrolides), and/or ketolides.
Before administering AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX, inform your doctor if the child has diabetes, myasthenia gravis (a condition marked by weak muscles), heart problems, liver problems (such as an impaired hepatic function), and/or kidney problems (such as impaired renal function).
AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). It is also not recommended for use in elderly patients.
The most common side effects of administering AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX in children are stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, skin rash, or itching. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms become worse in the child.

Used in paediatric patients:
- To manage infections caused by bacteria and other micro-organisms which include chest, throat, and nasal infections

- To manage sexually transmitted diseases caused by organisms such as chlamydia trachomatis/ Neisseria gonorrhoea

AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to grow) that results in its destruction thus managing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.
How to use AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX
Administer AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX in the child as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of management for your child depending on the child’s age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX
Common
- stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence
- dizziness, headache
- numbness/pickling sensation
- loss of appetite, taste disturbance
- visual disturbances, deafness

- joint pain
- tiredness, weakness
Uncommon
- yeast infections of the mouth and vagina
- allergic reactions of varying severity
- increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
- feeling nervous
- reduced sense of touch or sensations
- sleepiness/sleeplessness
- poor hearing/ringing in the ears
- racing heartbeat, chest pain
- constipation, fever
- signs of inflammation of the liver such as jaundice (yellowing of skin and whites of eyes), loss of appetite, dark urine
- general loss of strength
- swelling
- general discomfort
Rare
- vertigo (spinning head)
- agitation
Stop administering AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX and consult your doctor immediately in case the child experiences:
- sudden wheeziness, difficulty in breathing, swelling of eyelids, face/lips, rash, and/or itching (affecting the whole body)
- signs of serious bowel inflammation such as severe/prolonged diarrhoea
- severe skin rash causing redness and flaking of the skin
- rapid/irregular heartbeat
- low blood pressure
- angioedema (swelling underneath the skin)
- signs of cholestatic jaundice such as yellowing of skin and whites of eyes, dark urine
- dizziness, faint/ suffer from muscle weakness
- serious skin reaction such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (associated with signs such as blistering of the skin, mouth, eyes and genitals), Toxic epidermal necrosis (associated with signs such as blistering of the skin), Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (such as small, itchy red bumps)
- Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis skin (associated with signs such as skin eruption with rapid appearance of red skin studded with small pustules)
How To Manage Side Effects
Constipation
Ask the child to drink an adequate amount of water and include plenty of fruits and vegetables in the child’s diet. Constipation should go away after a few days followed by its administration in the child. If it persists for a longer time or becomes severe then consult your doctor.
Diarrhea
Ask the child to drink lots of fluids such as water or fruit juices so that the child is sufficiently hydrated. Do not administer any medicine to manage the condition. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve or becomes worse.
Headache
Ask the child to take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Headaches usually go away after the first week of administration of AZIGOLD 200MG READYMIX. If it lasts more than a week or becomes severe, inform your doctor.
