Introduction About ASTARET SOFTGELS
Astaret Softgels is a nutritional supplement used in the management of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), diabetic neuropathy, central retinal arterial and venous occlusion glaucoma and during inflammatory eye diseases like retinitis, iritis, keratitis, scleritis, etc. It contains astaxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E as active ingredients.
Vitamin C acts as a powerful antioxidant and it helps to maintain collagen found in the cornea of the eye. Vitamin A helps to maintain surface of the eye, mucous membranes and skin to be effective barriers against bacteria and viruses which helps to reduce the risk of eye infections. Vitamin E helps to manage cataracts and is yet another factor involved in managing macular degeneration (AMD).
Astaxanthin is a natural anti-inflammatory agent and potent UVB absorber. It crosses blood retinal barrier to protect retina. Lutein and zeaxanthin together, manages vision threatening conditions, exhibits strong free radical scavenging activity and protects cells, organs and body tissues from oxidative damage, improves macular pigment optical density and visual acuity, reduces photoreceptor cell depth and risk of nuclear cataract.
