Introduction About ARH L DRY SYRUP

ARH L DRY SYRUP is a combination of Artemether and Lumefantrine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-malarial agents. It is used to manage uncomplicated malarial infection caused by plasmodium falciparum (a type of malaria parasite) in infants and children.

Also, it manages malarial infections in areas where malarial parasites are resistant to other anti-malarial medicines. Malaria is a mosquito-borne infection caused by plasmodium parasites, typically transmitted through the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito. It is characterized by symptoms such as chills, fever, headache, muscles pain and tiredness.

ARH L DRY SYRUP is not recommended for use in children with severe liver or kidney impairment, heart conditions such as arrhythmia, slow heartbeat or severe heart disease, severe type of malarial infection affecting the brain, lungs or kidney, low levels of electrolytes such as potassium or magnesium in blood.

Before administering ARH L DRY SYRUP to your child, inform child’s doctor if your child feels too sick to eat or drink, experiences worsening of the condition or has any allergies.

ARH L DRY SYRUP is recommended for use in infants and children. Your child’s doctor may adjust the dose based on child’s body weight.

The most common side effects of taking ARH L DRY SYRUP are headache, dizziness, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Consult your child’s doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

Uses Of ARH L DRY SYRUP

    • Manage uncomplicated malarial infection caused by plasmodium falciparum (a type of malaria parasite)
    • Manage malarial infections in areas where malarial parasites are resistant to other anti-malarial medicines

How ARH L DRY SYRUP Works

ARH L DRY SYRUP effectively manages malarial infections, where artemether effectively kills the malarial parasites by binding to haem (part of molecules that contains iron which is toxic to malarial parasites) which is produced during the breakdown of haemoglobin. Lumefantrine works by binding to hemin where it manages the formation of a toxic malarial pigment called hemozoin, thereby it manages malarial infection. In addition to this artemether and lumefantrine blocks nucleic acid and protein synthesis in parasite that damages the parasitic cell membrane of plasmodium falciparum which leads to the death of parasite. Thus, it helps in managing the malarial infection.
