ALLERCET COLD TABLET is a fixed-dose combination of levocetirizine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine which belongs to the group of medicines called cold medicine. It is used in the management of symptoms of the common cold such as blocked nose, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, nasal congestion, stuffiness, fever, and headache.
The common cold is a viral infection that affects the nose and throat symptoms include a blocked nose, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, nasal congestion, stuffiness, and headache. Fever is generally increased body temperature in response to an infection.
ALLERCET COLD TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe high blood pressure, heart disease, severe liver disease, kidney disease and hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid levels). ALLERCET COLD TABLET should be used with caution in patients with glaucoma and severe urinary bladder problems. Concomitant use of ALLERCET COLD TABLET along with medicines used to manage mental illness, depression and heart medicines are not recommended.
ALLERCET COLD TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women. ALLERCET COLD TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. ALLERCET COLD TABLET should be used with caution in children and adolescence. ALLERCET COLD TABLET should be used with caution in elder patients. Consult your doctor before taking it. ALLERCET COLD TABLET works by relieving the symptoms of the common cold and fever. Levocetirizine an antihistamine in ALLERCET COLD TABLET blocks the receptor (histamine) responsible for causing runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing thus reducing the allergic responses of the common cold.
Phenylephrine a vasoconstrictor blocks the fluid from draining into the nasal passages, thereby reducing nasal congestion. Paracetamol serves as both anti-pyretic and analgesic. The anti-pyretic activity of paracetamol reduces body temperature and relieves fever. The analgesic activity of paracetamol helps in reducing the body pain caused by the common cold.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take ALLERCET COLD TABLET as advised by your physician. Do not miss any dose of ALLERCET COLD TABLET. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. ALLERCET COLD TABLET can be taken with or without food. Do not crush or chew the medicine. In case if you have missed any dose take it as soon as you remember it. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. If you have any doubts regarding the doses, consult your doctor.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Cough And Cold
Drink an adequate amount of water to manage dehydration. Keep your head elevated with extra pillows when sleeping. Gargle with warm salt water. Avoid irritants, like smoke and dust. Consume hot ginger tea to relieve cough.

Diarrhea
Drinking plenty of water and other electrolyte-balanced fluids (like diluted fruit juices, broths, sports drinks, and caffeine-free sodas). Make sure to hydrate throughout the day. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.

Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Sit or lie down when you feel dizzy and rest until the dizziness goes away. This can manage the possibility of losing your balance, avoid caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco, they may trigger dizziness or make it worse. Drink enough water, and follow a proper sleeping habits. Follow a healthful diet that consists of vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins to help manage dizziness.

Headache

Insomnia
Try to maintain the same schedule for sleeping and waking, even on weekends. Follow a bedtime routine. Limit afternoon caffeine.
