    Introduction About ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION contains Levocloperastine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antitussives agents. It is used for symptomatic management of non-productive cough associated with acute and chronic respiratory disorders. Do not consume alcohol while taking this medicine. ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver impairment, have excessive discharge of mucus, or limited mucociliary function.

    Before using ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION tell your doctor if you have hypertension, cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, or seizures ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION is generally not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is not recommended for use in children (early childhood). Consult your doctor if you experience nausea, headache, dizziness, exhaustion, or any other side effects.

    How ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION Works

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION acts at the central nervous system (CNS) level by blocking both the central cough centre and peripheral receptors in the airway passage (trachea, lungs). Hence reducing the cough.

    How to use ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION

    Use ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, disease condition and body weight.

    Side Effects Of ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION

    Common

    • nausea
    • headache
    • dizziness
    • exhaustion

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea:

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

    Dizziness:

    When you start taking ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION, you may feel faint or dizzy. This is caused by your blood pressure dropping. If this happens, resting or lying down for some time can help. Consult your doctor if symptoms don't improve. 

    Headache:

    Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try to take rest in a quiet and dark room. Massage on scalp or head with mild pressure. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Pregnancy

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women or women planning to have a baby as safety data has not been established yet. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Breastfeeding

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as safety data has not been established yet. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Alcohol

    Do not consume alcohol while using ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION.

    Liver

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver impairment. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Allergy

    Do not use ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION if you are allergic to Levocloperastine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients with hypertension (high blood pressure) and cardiovascular diseases. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Others

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION is not recommended for use if you:

    • have excessive discharge of mucus, limited mucociliary function

    Before using ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION tell your doctor if you:

    • have uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
    • have hyperthyroidism
    • have seizures

    Use in paediatrics:

    ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in children (early childhood). Consult your doctor before using.

    Interactions

    A. Drug – Drug Interactions:

    Before using ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • antihistaminics (used to manage allergic conditions) Ex. hydroxyzine, diphenhydramine
    • sedatives (used to manage anxiety, sleep issues) Ex. zolpidem, eszopiclone
    • tranquilizers (used to reduce anxiety, fear, tension, agitation, and related states of mental disturbance) Ex. diazepam
    • sympathomimetic amines (used to manage ischemic heart disease) Ex. epinephrine, norepinephrine
    • antiserotonergic drugs (used to manage depression) Ex. ergots methysergide

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of ALEX L ORAL SUSPENSION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
