Introduction About ACGEL LOTION
ACGEL LOTION contains Clarithromycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Macrolide Antibiotics. It is used to manage acne vulgaris. It also manages blackheads, whiteheads, more severe forms of acne.
Acne is caused due to blockage and the inflammation of the skin pores or hair follicles. When oil is trapped in the hair follicles, the normal skin bacteria P.acnes (gram-positive commensal bacterium) will grow in the blocked pore. The bacteria produce chemicals that alter the composition of the oil, which makes it more irritating to the skin and causes inflammation of the skin pore. This results in superficial skin eruptions.
ACGEL LOTION is not recommended for patients who are allergic (hypersensitive) to clarithromycin, or to any other ingredients present in it.
