INTRODUCTION
ACEPAR SYRUP is a combination of Aceclofenac and Paracetamol, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. ACEPAR SYRUP is used in pediatric patients to reduce inflammation and provide relief from pain from conditions such as mild migraine, headaches, dental pain, muscle pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
It is also used in paediatric patients to treat fever.
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in child allergic to aceclofenac and paracetamol. It is also not recommended for use in children with lung problems (such as asthma), heart problems, kidney problems, and/or liver problems.
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). It is also not recommended for use in elderly patients.
The most common side effects of administering ACEPAR SYRUP are diarrhoea, indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence, constipation, and/or drowsiness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms becomes worse in the child.
USES OF ACEPAR SYRUP
Used in pediatric patients:
- To reduce inflammation and provide relief from pain from conditions such as mild migraine, headaches, dental pain, muscle pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis
- To treat fever
HOW ACEPAR SYRUP WORKS
ACEPAR SYRUP provides relief from pain and reduces fever where aceclofenac and paracetamol works by blocking the action of prostaglandin (chemical messengers responsible for pain, fever and inflammation) thus reducing fever and providing relief from fever in affected children.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Administer ACEPAR SYRUP in child as directed by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for your child depending upon the age, body weight and disease condition.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ACEPAR SYRUP
COMMON
- diarrhoea, indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence, constipation
- drowsiness, dizziness
RARE
Stop administering ACEPAR SYRUP and contact your doctor immediately if your child experience any of the following side effects:
- signs of severe allergic reaction such as difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, neck, tongue or throat
- signs of serious skin reactions such as peeling, blistering and lesions of the skin
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea/vomiting:
Have the child take this medicine with or just after a meal or a snack. Let the child stick to simple meals and avoid having rich or spicy food.
Constipation:
Ask the child to drink adequate amount of water and include plenty of fruits and vegetables in child’s diet. Constipation should go away after few days followed by its administration in the child. If it persists for longer time or becomes severe then consult your doctor.
Diarrhoea:
Ask the child to drink lots of fluids such as water or fruit juices so that the child is sufficiently hydrated. Do not administer any medicine to treat the condition. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve or becomes worse.
Dizziness:
Ask your child to take rest and get enough sleep. Provide child with a glass of fruit juice or water to improve dizziness Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve or becomes worse.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it is used only in children.

BREASTFEEDING
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it is used only in children.

KIDNEY
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in child with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.

LIVER
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in child with liver problems. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.

ALLERGY
Do not administer ACEPAR SYRUP if the child is allergic to aceclofenac, paracetamol, and/or other ingredients of this medicine.

LUNGS
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in child with lung problems such as asthma. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.

HEART DISEASE
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in child with heart problems. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.
OTHERS
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in child, if it has:
- intolerance to some sugars (maltitol and sorbitol)
Use in Paediatrics:
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in children below 3 months of age. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.
Use in Geriatrics:
ACEPAR SYRUP is not recommended for use in elderly patients as it is used only in children.
INTERACTIONS
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before administering ACEPAR SYRUP, inform your doctor if your child is taking any of the following medicine:
- Domperidone, metoclopramide (medicines used to nausea, vomiting)
- Cholestyramine (used to reduce high cholesterol levels in blood)
- Medicines used to thin blood (Ex. warfarin)
- Medicines used for epilepsy (Ex. barbiturates)
- Medicines for depression such as tricyclic antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline, amoxapine)
- Flucloxacillin (used for skin and wound infections, bone infections)
Overdosage:
If the child or anyone else accidentally take too much of ACEPAR SYRUP, consult and inform your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
