ZYDOL NEW contains Mefenamic acid which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It helps to lower body temperature (fever), reduces pain and inflammation both in infants and children. Mefenamic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. It works by reducing hormones that cause fever, inflammation and pain in the body.
The dose and frequency will be depending upon the type and severity of the infection, your child’s age, and body weight, so stick to the dose, time, and duration as prescribed by the doctor. In some cases, minor and temporary side effects may be experienced after the intake of this medicine. These include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain, skin rash.
Usually, these effects subside once your child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case of prolonged or bothersome events, it would be best to consult your doctor without any delay.
