    Introduction About ZOCON T KIT

    ZOCON T KIT is a combination of Fluconazole and Tinidazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungal and Antiprotozoal agents respectively. It is used to manage vaginal infections caused by fungus.

    Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine because it may cause abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing and tachycardia.

    Before taking ZOCON T KIT inform your doctor if you have lung, liver or kidney disease or heart rhythm disorders.

    ZOCON T KIT is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. Contact your doctor before taking.

    ZOCON T KIT is not recommended for use in breast feeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking.

    ZOCON T KIT is not recommended for use in children. Contact your doctor before taking. ZOCON T KIT should be used with caution in elderly patients aged 65 years or above. Contact your doctor before taking.

    The most common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach discomfort, indigestion, diarrhoea, constipation, anorexia, change in taste, rashes, dizziness, weakness etc. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

    How ZOCON T KIT Works

    ZOCON T KIT helps to manage vaginal infections, where Fluconazole works by inhibiting the formation of ergosterol which is essential for fungal cell wall synthesis, leading to death of fungal cells and Tinidazole works by damaging the DNA. Together, reduces the infection.

    How to use ZOCON T KIT

    Take this medicine as advised by your physician. Swallow this medicine as whole with a glass of water and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of ZOCON T KIT

    Common

    • nausea, vomiting
    • headache
    • stomach discomfort
    • indigestion
    • diarrhoea
    • constipation
    • anorexia
    • change in taste
    • abnormal liver function tests
    • rash
    • dizziness
    • weakness, fatigue or malaise

    Uncommon

    • pale skin, weakness or shortness of breath due to decrease in red blood cells
    • inability to sleep, feeling drowsy
    • fits
    • dry mouth
    • muscle pain
    • fever, tiredness, feeling unwell

    Rare

    • decreased white blood cells and platelets
    • reddish or purple skin discoloration
    • low blood potassium levels
    • elevated cholesterol levels
    • shaking
    • abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG), change in heart rate or rhythm
    • hair loss

    Stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • skin rash, widespread blistering rash and skin peeling or red itchy spots on the skin, swelling of the face, eyelids, lips, tongue or throat causing sudden wheeziness, difficulty breathing or chest tightness and sores around the mouth, eyes, nose or genitals
    • DRESS (Drug Rash with Eosinophilia and Systemic symptoms) symptoms may include fever, swollen glands, widespread rash, increase in a type of white blood cell (eosinophilia) and inflammation of internal organs like liver, lungs, heart, kidneys and large intestine
    • tiredness, loss of appetite, vomiting, yellowish discolouration of skin or whites of eye (jaundice) or liver failure
    • signs of adrenal problems such as tiredness, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, weight loss, and abdominal pain
    • abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge
    • vaginal or vulval sores, ulcers and blisters
    • lower abdominal pain, burning on passing urine

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Headache:

    Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes and apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if necessary. Do not consume alcohol. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Nausea or Vomiting:

    Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods.

    Diarrhoea:

    Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep you hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhea. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Indigestion:

    Eat smaller meals but take frequently. Eat and exercise regularly. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Constipation:

    Eat plenty of fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals. Drink plenty of water and exercise more regularly.

    Dizziness:

    Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Stomach pain:

    Try to rest and relax. Eat small meals but take frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Breastfeeding

    ZOCON T KIT is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or operate any machines if you have dizziness, fits (convulsions), after taking [GBNEYWORD].

    Alcohol

    Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine because it may cause abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headache.

    Kidney

    ZOCON T KIT should be used caution in patients with kidney disease. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Liver

    ZOCON T KIT should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Allergy

    Do not take ZOCON T KIT if you are allergic to Fluconazole, Tinidazole or other medicines used to manage yeast or fungal infections, or to lactose or some sugars or to other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    ZOCON T KIT should be used with caution in patients with lung diseases like pneumonia. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Heart Disease

    ZOCON T KIT should be used caution in patients with heart rhythm disorders, heart failure. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Others

    Before taking ZOCON T KIT, inform your doctor if you have:

    • abnormal levels of potassium, calcium and magnesium in blood
    • sexually transmitted disease
    • fungal infection
    • cryptococcal meningitis
    • bone marrow transplantation
    • urinary tract infections and peritonitis
    • systemic Candida infections (Ex. candidemia, disseminated candidiasis)
    • esophageal or oropharyngeal candidiasis
    • AIDS
    • cancer
    • diabetes
    • history of blood dyscrasias
    • seizures
    • peripheral neuropathy
    • vertigo
    • low immunity

    Use in pediatrics:

    ZOCON T KIT is not recommended for use in children. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Use in geriatrics:

    ZOCON T KIT should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years above). Contact your doctor before taking.

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Inform your physician, if you are taking,

    • medicines used in allergies (terfenadine, astemizole)
    • cisapride (medicines used to manage stomach upset)
    • pimozide (medicines used in mental conditions)
    • quinidine (medicines used to manage heart arrhythmia)
    • erythromycin, azithromycin (medicines used to manage bacterial infections)
    • medicines used to manage hypertension Ex. nifedipine, isradipine, amlodipine, felodipine and losartan
    • rifampicin, rifampin, rifabutin (medicines used to manage infections like tuberculosis)
    • medicines used to thin the blood or to manage blood clots (Ex. warfarin)
    • benzodiazepines (Ex. midazolam, triazolam) medicines used to manage insomnia and anxiety
    • olaparib (medicines used to manage ovarian cancer)
    • chlorpropamide, glibenclamide, glipizide or tolbutamide (medicines used to manage diabetes)
    • phenytoin, phenobarbital, fosphenytoin carbamazepine (medicines used to manage fits)
    • medicines used to manage transplant rejection like cyclosporine, everolimus, sirolimus and tacrolimus
    • theophylline (medicines used to manage asthma)
    • tofacitinib (medicines used to manage rheumatoid arthritis)
    • zidovudine, nevirapine, saquinavir (medicines used to manage HIV)
    • Ex. prednisone (medicines used to manage inflammation)
    • oral contraceptives like levonorgestrel, ethinyl estradiol, norethindrone (medicines used to manage pregnancy)
    • alfentanil, fentanyl (medicines used in anaesthesia)
    • celecoxib, parecoxib, flurbiprofen, naproxen, ibuprofen, lornoxicam, meloxicam, diclofenac (medicines used to manage pain)
    • amitriptyline, nortriptyline (medicines used to manage depression)
    • amphotericin B, voriconazole, ketoconazole (medicines used to manage fungal infections)
    • cyclophosphamide and vinca alkaloids like vincristine, vinblastine (medicines used for cancer)
    • halofantrine (medicines used to manage malaria)
    • atorvastatin, simvastatin and fluvastatin (medicines used to manage high cholesterol levels)
    • vitamin A (nutritional supplement)
    • fentanyl or methadone (medicines used for severe pain)
    • ivacaftor (medicines sued to manage cystic fibrosis)
    • amiodarone (medicines used to manage uneven heartbeats or arrhythmias)
    • hydrochlorothiazide
    • cimetidine (medicines used for stomach ulcers)
    • antacid (medicines used to manage indigestion, heartburn)
    • tolbutamide, glipizide, nateglinide, and glyburide
    • disulfiram (used for chronic alcoholism)
    • lithium (medicines used to manage depression and mania)
    • fluorouracil (medicines used to manage cancer)
    • oxytetracycline (medicines used to manage bacterial infections)
    • bosentan (medicines used to manage high blood pressure in lungs)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdosage are hallucinations and paranoid behaviour.
