WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE contains Pancreatin which belongs to the group of medicines called Gastrointestinal agents. WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE is used to treat exocrine pancreatic enzyme insufficiency (deficient pancreatic enzyme) in affected individuals.
It is also used to treat pancreatitis (swelling of pancreas), flatulence, cystic fibrosis (genetic disorder that affects lungs and digestive system), moderate indigestion in diabetes and irritable bowel syndrome (intestinal disorder). The medicine is also indicated for use as digestive aid, and in pancreas removal.
WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE is not recommended to use in patients allergic to pork, and/any other pig product. Before taking WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems (such as renal impairment), and/or liver problems (such as hepatic impairment).
WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. It is safe to use in breastfeeding women.
The medicine should be used with caution in children & adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE are stomach pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and/or constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE is a pancreatic enzyme supplement which works by breaking down fats, starch, and proteins into simpler constituents in the body thus resulting in easy absorption and thereby treating pancreatic enzyme deficiency and its associated symptoms in affected individuals.
Tablet:
Take WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Capsule, Minimicrospheres:
Take WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water as a whole or open the capsule and mix the granules (without crushing) in acidic liquid (such as apple/orange/pineapple juice) or soft food (such as apple sauce/yoghurt). Do not crush/chew the medicine and avoid mixing the granules in non-acidic food/liquid (as it may cause irritation in your mouth/alter the effect of the medicine). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop taking WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea and vomiting:
Take WINPERT 10000IU CAPSULE with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, drink slowly in between meals. Talk with your doctor if the condition worsens.
Diarrhea:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea. Consult your doctor and inform them if the symptom gets worse.
Constipation:
Try to eat high-fiber foods such as vegetables, cereals, fresh fruit, and drink plenty of water. Involve in regular exercise (going for a daily walk or run) and if this does not help, consult and inform your doctor for receiving alternate treatments for constipation.

The symptoms of overdosage may include hyperuricosuria (condition marked by increased excretion of uric acid in urine) and hyperuricemia (high uric acid level in blood).
