INTRODUCTION

WAXOLVE EAR DROPS is a combination of Paradichlorobenzene, Benzocaine, Chlorbutol and Turpentine Oil which belongs to the group of medicines called Otic agents, Local anaesthetics, Wax softeners and Lubricating agent. It is indicated in the patients who have impacted wax and keratosis (build-up of keratin in the ear canal).

WAXOLVE EAR DROPS should be used with caution in patients having kidney and liver diseases, hearing problems, intestinal problems, myasthenia gravis and Parkinson’s disease. WAXOLVE EAR DROPS is not recommended for use in children below 1 year of age.

Caution must be exercised while using WAXOLVE EAR DROPS in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult your doctor’s advice to use WAXOLVE EAR DROPS in elderly patients. The most common side effects of using WAXOLVE EAR DROPS are sleepiness and headache. Talk with your doctor if any of these worsen or does not improve.

HOW WAXOLVE EAR DROPS WORKS

WAXOLVE EAR DROPS aids in the treatment of impacted ear wax and keratosis where, Benzocaine belongs to Local anaesthetic which acts on certain nerve pathways and decreases the pain sensation. Paradichlorobenzene acts by reducing the thickness of the impacted wax, facilitating its easy removal. Chlorbutol acts as a wax softener and Turpentine oil removes the dryness and lubricates the ear canal.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use WAXOLVE EAR DROPS as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. Instil 2-3 drops of WAXOLVE EAR DROPS in affected ear 3-4 times a day or as directed by physician. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the condition.

COMMON

  • sleepiness
  • headache
  • anaphylaxis (wheezing, fast heart rate, clammy skin, light-headedness, breathing difficulties)

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Headache

Try to take rest and do not involve yourself in exertive activities. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead. If the symptom does not improve, consult with your doctor.

ALLERGY
Contraindicated

Do not use WAXOLVE EAR DROPS if you are allergic to Benzocaine, Paradichlorobenzene, Chlorbutol and Turpentine oil or any other ingredients of this medicine.

USE IN PEDIATRICS
Contraindicated

WAXOLVE EAR DROPS is not recommended for use in children below 1 year of age. Consult your doctor before using.

  • hearing problems (decreased hearing, deafness)
  • intestinal problems (ulcers, blockage or swelling)
  • myasthenia gravis
