TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) is a combination of Clobetasol propionate and Lactic acid which belongs to a group of medicines called Topical Corticosteroids, and Alpha-hydroxy acids, respectively. TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) is used to treat, control, prevent, and improve conditions and symptoms of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, moderate to severe plaque-type psoriasis, dry skin, scaly skin, and ichthyosis vulgaris.
Corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses are skin conditions that develop as a result of a reaction to corticosteroid medications and are characterised by symptoms such as dry skin, redness, itching, rashes, and/or sores. Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes a rash with itchy, scaly patches that most commonly occur on the knees, elbows, trunk, and scalp.
Ichthyosis vulgaris is an inherited or acquired skin condition that occurs when skin doesn’t shed its dead cells, leading to symptoms such as dry, itchy, rough skin that looks dirty, noticeably on the palms and soles of the feet.
TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) should not be used in patients who have skin infections such as rosacea (severe flushing of the skin on and around the nose) or perioral dermatitis (spotty red rash around the mouth).Before applying TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL), inform your doctor if you have concomitant skin infections (skin diseases caused by parasites).
TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) should only be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women if absolutely necessary.TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use in children (below 12 years) due to side effects such as HPA axis suppression (poor body defence against infection), Cushing’s syndrome (hormonal disorder), and intracranial hypertension (high blood pressure in the brain).
The most common symptoms of applying TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) are burning and stinging sensations, irritation, itchy skin, red skin, and numbness of fingers. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms get worse.

TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) helps to treat skin infections. Clobetasol propionate prevents inflammation by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy, and ammonium lactate acts as a moisturiser and provides relief from minor skin infections.
Always apply TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL), as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. On the affected area, apply a thin layer of this medicine. Treated areas on the face need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Do not apply TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) to your face beyond 5 days. Avoid applying TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) around your eyes, including your eyelids.
Stop applying TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:
Dry Skin:
Try moisturising your skin with an ointment, cream, or lotion two or three times a day, or as often as needed. Moisturizers help to keep the area moist, so they work best on damp skin. After you bathe, pat your skin dry, then apply your moisturizer. Try to avoid using skin care products and soaps that contain alcohol, fragrances, dyes, or other chemicals.
Itchy Skin:
Avoid scratching your skin. Cool your skin by holding on to a damp towel. Try to have cool or warm baths. Wear loose clothing and do not wear tight clothes. Try to avoid using perfumed soaps, deodorants, or moisturizers, and always use unscented moisturizer.
TOPINATE AL GEL(TOPICAL) should be used with caution during pregnancy only if its is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.
