Introduction About TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION is a combination of Minoxidil and Aminexil which belongs to the group of medicines called Vasodilating agents. It is used to manage alopecia androgenetica (male pattern baldness).
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION is not recommended for use in patients having high blood pressure, hair loss due to drug management, total baldness, complete loss of body hair, shaved scalp, scalp diseases, unhealthy scalp and taking management for cancer or loss of iron.
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION should be used with caution in those who have heart diseases such as abnormal heart rhythms or rate and chest pain.
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION should not be used in pregnant and breast-feeding women. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents aged below 18 years.
The most common side effects of using TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION are headache, itching or dermatitis and unusual hair growth. Consult your doctor if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

How TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION Works
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION helps in the management of alopecia where Minoxidil is thought to work by increasing the blood flow to the hair follicles on your scalp. Aminexil helps in the management of hair loss by promoting hair growth for those having the condition of alopecia. It increases the blood circulation to hair follicles which triggers an increase in hair growth and also manages the build-up of collagen around hair shaft and hardening of the shaft.
How to use TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION
Always apply TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION as directed by your physician. Make sure that your hair and scalp are completely dry before applying TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION. Avoid applying TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION around your eyes, including eyelids, nose and mouth. Always wash your hands, thoroughly after application and if you accidentally apply TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION to other parts of your body other than the scalp, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION for you according to your age and disease condition.
Side Effects Of TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION
Common
- headache
- rash, itching or dermatitis
- unusual hair growth (including growth of facial hair in women)
Uncommon
- nausea
- change in hair texture or colour may occur
- scalp irritation (redness, dryness, flaky skin)
- acne like or itchy rash, bleeding, blistering or ulceration
- temporary hair loss may occur
Rare
Stop using TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION and inform your doctor immediately of you experience any of the following side effects:
- chest pain
- difficulty in swallowing or breathing due to swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat
- allergic reactions presenting as throat tightness or swollen face, skin redness or itching, persistent local redness or rash
- low blood pressure
- fast heartbeat, increased awareness of the heartbeat
- faintness or dizziness
- swollen hands or feet, shortness of breath
- sudden weight gain
How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea:
Stick to simple meals while using this medicine. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Headache:
Try to take rest and don’t involve yourself in exertive activities. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. If headache does not improve, consult your doctor.

Pregnancy
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before using it.
Breastfeeding
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using it.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy or low blood pressure after using TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION.
Allergy
Do not use TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION if you are allergic to Minoxidil or Aminexil.
Heart Disease
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION should be used with caution in patients who have abnormal heart rhythms or rate, chest pain or circulation disorders. Consult your doctor before using it.
Others
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION is not recommended for use if you:
- have high blood pressure
- have hair loss due to drug management
- have total baldness or complete loss of all body hair
- have any condition that affects your scalp, including sunburn and psoriasis
- have shaved scalp
- have unhealthy scalp
- have dressing or bandage on your scalp
- have sudden or unexpected hair loss
- are taking management for cancer or loss of iron
- are malnourished and have poor hygiene
- are above 49 years of age
Use in paediatrics:
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) as the safety and effectiveness is not established. Consult your doctor before using it.
Use in geriatrics:
TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION is not recommended for use in patients (aged 65 years and above) as the safety and effectiveness is not established. Consult your doctor before using it.
Interactions
A. Drug–Drug Interactions:
Before using TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- Hydralazine (used to manage high blood pressure)
- dithranol (used to manage chronic plaque psoriasis)
- tretinoin (medicines used to manage acne or other skin disorders)
- corticosteroids such as prednisone, cortisone (used to manage inflammation)
- petrolatum (used to manage excessive skin dryness)
Overdosage:
It is unlikely to use an overdose of TINFAL PLUS SOLUTION. If you or anyone else accidentally ingest the medicine by mistake consult your doctor immediately or go to the nearby hospital. Overdosage symptoms include sodium and water retention, slow heart rate and low blood pressure.
