What is Cefixime used for?
Cefixime is prescribed to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, middle ear infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and gonorrhea. This medication is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic, which works by stopping the growth of the bacteria in your body. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How to take Cefixime?
The dosage of Cefixime prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label. Cefixime can be taken with or without food.
