Tarsalic Lotion is a scalp lotion which is used in the treatment of itching and flaking associated with conditions like psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff of the scalp. It contains Coal tar and Salicylic acid as active ingredients which help in the removal of dead skin cells.
Coal tar works by decreasing the keratinocyte (a type of skin cell which increases in diseased conditions) proliferation and slowing down the growth of skin cells. Salicylic acid works by softening the scaly patches and causes shedding of the outer layer of the affected scalp region.
Always use Tarsalic Lotion as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Take a small quantity of this lotion. Wet your hair, apply and massage the lotion in the wet scalp for 5 minutes and rinse it with water. Do not use soap or shampoo before or after using this lotion. Do not exceed the daily recommended dosage. Consult your doctor if you experience any allergic reactions while using it.
Tarsalic Lotion may cause scalp irritation and staining of skin or hair. Consult your doctor if you notice any such side effects while using this lotion.
