Introduction About SUPPOL CHILD 170MG SUPPOSITORY
Suppol Child 170 Suppository is a painkiller and anti-pyretic medicine. It is used in children to relieve pain and fever (high body temperature). It contains paracetamol as an active ingredient that reduces fever and pain. It is ideal when oral administration is inconvenient or not possible to take.
Paracetamol relieves pain by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting certain enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) involved in synthesis of chemicals responsible for inducing pain (prostaglandins). It reduces fever by directly acting on heat-regulating centers in the brain, resulting in vessel relaxation, sweating and loss of body heat.
Always use Suppol Child 170 Suppository for your child as advised by your child’s doctor. It is for rectal route only. For administration, place the baby in sleeping position, hold the legs with hands and gently push the suppository in to the rectum. For grown up children suppository can be inserted in standing or sitting position. Do not administer more than the recommended dosage as it may cause injury to the liver.
