Introduction About STIEPROX LIQUID

STIEPROX LIQUID contains Ciclopirox, which belongs to the group of medicines called anti-fungal agents. It is used in the management of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis in adults 18 years of age and older.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common inflammatory skin condition affecting the scalp, face, and body folds. It causes scaly patches, inflamed skin, and dandruff.

Before using STIEPROX LIQUID, inform your doctor if you have grey, white, or chemically damaged hair (Ex. due to hair dye).

STIEPROX LIQUID should be used by pregnant women only if it is considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before using it.

Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding, as it is not known whether this medicine is passed into breast milk. The safety and efficacy of STIEPROX LIQUID have not been established in children and adolescents under 18 years of age or in elderly patients above 65 years of age. Consult your doctor before using it.

The most common side effects of STIEPROX LIQUID are itching, skin irritation, and scalp irritation. Contact your doctor if any of these symptoms bother you.

STIEPROX LIQUID interferes with the active uptake and accumulation of some essential substrates such as iron and aluminium required by the fungus for its survival, leading to cell death. Thus, helps to controls dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis effectively.

How to use STIEPROX LIQUID

Use STIEPROX LIQUID as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Wet the hair and apply enough STIEPROX LIQUID to produce an abundant lather. The affected areas (scalp and/or its edges) should be gently massaged with fingertips for 2-3minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water.

Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with large amounts of water. Contact your doctor if irritation persists.

Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or ORS (Oral Rehydrating Solution) and apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if necessary. Contact your doctor if the headache did not improve.

Avoid hot bath because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while going outside. Use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if the itching worsens.
