SPASMONORM M TABLET is a combination of Camylofin and Mefenamic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodic and Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) respectively. It is used to treat renal colic (pain when stone gets stuck in the urinary tract causing painful, bloody, or cloudy urination), biliary colic (pain in the abdomen due to obstruction by stones in bile duct), intestinal colic (cramp like pain in the small or large intestine) and dysmenorrhea (period or menstrual cramps around the abdomen, hips, lower back).
Having a fiber rich diet, keeping yourself hydrated, quitting smoking and alcohol will help in the treatment process. Prior to the treatment your doctor might want you to take certain blood tests. Before taking SPASMONORM M TABLET inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, heart, prostate gland, thyroid gland, lung problems, stomach ulcers, bleeding disorder, diabetes, cholesterol, bowel problems, systemic lupus erythematosus, having a surgery, glaucoma, fever, epilepsy or blood circulation problems.
Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with SPASMONORM M TABLET. It is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. SPASMONORM M TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age. The most common side effects of taking SPASMONORM M TABLET are nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain and diarrhea. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects do not improve.

SPASMONORM M TABLET works by relieving muscle cramps and pain in which Camylofin relaxes the muscles in the stomach and intestine stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms). Mefenamic acid inhibits the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase and there by inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and pain.
Take SPASMONORM M TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop taking SPASMONORM M TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Eat smaller and frequent meals, exercise regularly. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Drink lots of water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Avoid bright lights, take enough rest and drink more water. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Snack only when you're hungry. Eat a nutritious snack, such as dried fruit and nuts. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Take this medicine with meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. If the symptom does not show improvement, consult your doctor.
Try to rest and relax. Keep a heat pad. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.
SPASMONORM M TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women (more than 6 months) or women who are planning to become pregnant. SPASMONORM M TABLET should be used with caution in first 6 months of pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking it.
SPASMONORM M TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking SPASMONORM M TABLET.
Do not drive or use machines while taking SPASMONORM M TABLET as it may cause dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue and visual disturbances which may affect their ability to drive or operate machines.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking SPASMONORM M TABLET as it can increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
SPASMONORM M TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease. SPASMONORM M TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
SPASMONORM M TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. SPASMONORM M TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
Do not take SPASMONORM M TABLET if you are allergic to Camylofin, Mefenamic acid or any other ingredients of this medicine.
SPASMONORM M TABLET should be used with caution in patients with obstructive airway disease, asthma and other lung disease. Consult your doctor before taking.
SPASMONORM M TABLET is not recommended for use in patients who had a heart bypass surgery, mechanical stenosis and other serious heart problems. SPASMONORM M TABLET should be used with caution in patients with previous stroke, heart failure, cardiac surgery, high blood pressure. Consult your doctor before taking.
SPASMONORM M TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking.
