  • are allergic to penicillins, cephalosporins or macrolide antibiotics
  • have severe liver disease with kidney disease
  • have history of heart conditions such as cardiac arrhythmia
  • are prone to fungal infections (such as thrush)
  • have hypokalaemia
  • have glandular fever
  • have myasthenia gravis, a condition in which the muscles become weak and tire easily
  • have been diagnosed with osteoporosis

  • terfenadine or astemizole (to treat hay fever or allergy)
  • cilostazol (to treat poor circulation)
  • efavirenz, nevirapine, ritonavir, atazanavir, saquinavir (anti-viral and HIV treatments)
  • colchicine, allopurinol, probenecid (used for gout)
  • lovastatin, simvastatin, rosuvastatin, atorvastatin (used to lower levels of cholesterol)
  • ticagrelor used to prevent heart attack or stroke after certain heart surgeries
  • oral midazolam used for sedation
  • oral contraceptives or birth control pills
  • tacrolimus or cyclosporin or mycophenolate mofetil - medicines used to prevent organ transplant rejection or to treat certain problems with the immune system

  • Do not take a double dose to make up for any dose that you miss

If you stop taking SOMPRAZ HP KIT

  • Do not stop taking SOMPRAZ HP KIT unless your doctor instructs you to do so

COMMON

  • muscle pain or weakness
  • increase in breast size (males)
  • fever
  • changes in sleep patterns
  • mood changes, hallucinations, confusion or depression
  • change in sexual function
  • blurred vision, hearing disturbances
  • hair loss
  • bleeding or bruising more easily than normal
  • signs of frequent infections such as fever, severe chills, sore throat or mouth ulcers
  • skin rash
  • blood in urine
  • tremor
  • convulsions or fits
  • overgrowth of yeast infections (thrush)
