INTRODUCTION

RITECEF CV TABLET is a combination of Cefixime and Clavulanic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, respiratory tract (bronchus, lungs), urinary tract and genital tract. It can also be used in the treatment of typhoid fever.

A bacterial infection can be defined as a proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria within the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, reproductive tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue or bones.

Take RITECEF CV TABLET for the stipulated duration as instructed by the doctor to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

It is used in adults and in children (aged 10 years or above) to treat bacterial infections such as:

  • Throat infections (such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis)

HOW RITECEF CV TABLET WORKS

RITECEF CV TABLET is a powerful antibiotic. It contains two medicines namely, cefixime and clavulanic acid. Cefixime kills the susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Clavulanic acid stops the bacteria from producing toxic proteins (such as beta lactamases) that can reduce the effects of antibiotics. Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, prevent their further growth and multiplication which in turn reduces the severity of the infection.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in required quantity of water before consumption. Consume the dispersed medicine immediately after dissolution. Do not swallow the medicine as a whole or crush or chew it.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection. Do not skip doses or stop taking RITECEF CV TABLET without consulting your doctor as it may increase the severity of the infection.
