    INTRODUCTION

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE is a combination of Isoniazid and Rifampicin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antitubercular agents. It is used to treat tuberculosis and bacterial infection of membranes covering the brain, and spinal cord. It is also used to treat contagious disease of skin, nerves, mucous membrane, and other conditions in affected individuals.

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Isoniazid, and/or Rifampicin. Before taking RCINEX 450 CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you are scheduled for any upcoming surgery, and/or suffering from pre-existing diseases, liver problems (such as cirrhosis of liver)/kidney problems (such as renal insufficiency).

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. It is also advised to be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk.

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65years and above) after consulting the doctor. 

    The most common side effects of taking RCINEX 450 CAPSULE are hypersensitivity reaction (associated with signs such as skin rash, red itchy welt, and/or shortness of breath), loss of vision/hearing, flu-like syndrome, and/or arthralgia (joint stiffness). Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

    USES OF RCINEX 450 CAPSULE

    • Treats tuberculosis and bacterial infection of membranes covering the brain, and spinal cord
    • Treats contagious disease of skin, nerves, mucous membrane, and other conditions in affected individuals

    HOW RCINEX 450 CAPSULE WORKS

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE treats tuberculosis infection, where Rifampicin works by inactivating bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) resulting in its destruction and Isoniazid works by preventing the bacteria to form its own protective covering leading to its death thus treating tuberculosis in affected individuals.

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE

    Tablet, Capsule:

    Take RCINEX 450 CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow RCINEX 450 CAPSULE with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of the medicine depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    SIDE EFFECTS OF RCINEX 450 CAPSULE

    COMMON

    • signs of hypersensitivity (immune & inflammatory response) reactions such as skin rash, red itchy welt, shortness of breath, and/or wheezing
    • loss of vision/hearing
    • flu-like syndrome
    • haemolytic anaemia (blood disorder)
    • arthralgia (joint stiffness)

    RARE

    Stop taking RCINEX 450 CAPSULE and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of severe thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) such as excessive bruising, prolonged bleeding (from cuts), bleeding from gums, and/or blood in urine/stools

    PREGNANCY
    Use with Caution

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE is advised to be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    BREASTFEEDING
    Use with Caution

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE should be used with caution in breastfeeding women since the medicine may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    KIDNEY
    Use with Caution

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as renal insufficiency. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    LIVER
    Use with Caution

    RCINEX 450 CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with liver problems such as cirrhosis of liver. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    ALLERGY
    Contraindicated

    Do not take RCINEX 450 CAPSULE if you are allergic to Isoniazid, Rifampicin, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    OTHERS

    Before taking RCINEX 450 CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you:

    • are suffering from pre-existing diseases
    • are scheduled for upcoming surgery

    Use in Paediatrics:

    INTERACTIONS

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of RCINEX 450 CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
