RABIUM 40MG TABLET is used to treat Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), peptic ulcer and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (tumours in the pancreas causing the stomach to secrete more acid).
How RABIUM 40MG TABLET works?
RABIUM 40MG TABLET is a proton pump inhibitor. It reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach by blocking the actions of an enzyme called H+ K+ ATPase (also known as proton pump) which is present in the lining of the stomach walls. As a result, it reduces the chances for acid reflux into the oesophagus, heals peptic ulcers and esophageal lesions and prevents its recurrence.
How long will it take for RABIUM 40MG TABLET to cure my disease?
The time taken for healing depends on the severity of the disease. You may notice improvement in your condition within 1-2 days of therapy with RABIUM 40MG TABLET. However, it may take several weeks for RABIUM 40MG TABLET to completely heal the ulcers.
When should I take RABIUM 40MG TABLET?
RABIUM 40MG TABLET should be taken on an empty stomach at mornings. It can also be taken before a meal. Swallow RABIUM 40MG TABLET with a glass of water.
What are the long-term side effects of RABIUM 40MG TABLET?
Taking RABIUM 40MG TABLET especially over the time of a year can slightly increase the risk of hip, wrist, or spine fracture. Inform your doctor if you suffer from osteoporosis or if you are taking corticosteroids which can increase the risk of osteoporosis. It may also cause vitamin B12 deficiency and low magnesium levels in the blood.
Can I stop taking RABIUM 40MG TABLET once my symptoms subside?
Do not stop taking RABIUM 40MG TABLET without consulting your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy. Make sure to take RABIUM 40MG TABLET for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor to achieve complete healing of ulcers.

What to do if I forgot to take a dose of RABIUM 40MG TABLET?
