Introduction About RABILITE LS CAPSULE
RABILITE LS CAPSULE is indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (heartburn, chest pain, nausea, sensation of a lump in the throat, and stomach discomfort). It can also be used to manage peptic ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, functional dyspepsia, and diabetic gastroparesis.
RABILITE LS CAPSULE is a combination of Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole, which belong to the group of medicines called Dopamine D2 antagonists and Proton-pump inhibitors, respectively. Rabeprazole acts by inhibiting the secretions of stomach acid by blocking the proton pump (H+ K+ ATPase) at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, and levosulpiride acts by blocking the dopamine D2 receptors in the CTZ (the area in the medulla oblongata that causes vomiting when stimulated) and in the gut, thus facilitating the movement of food from the stomach into the intestines, followed by the healing of ulcers or inflammatory lesions in the stomach and in the esophagus.
Take RABILITE LS CAPSULE, preferably on an empty stomach. Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking RABILITE LS CAPSULE, as it could potentiate the CNS depressive side effects.
Patients receiving long-term management (>1 year) with RABILITE LS CAPSULE should be kept on regular surveillance because it can increase the risk of bone fracture (i.e., in the hip, wrist, or spine), which is more prevalent in patients with osteoporosis or taking corticosteroids.
Before taking RABILITE LS CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have any heart, kidney, or liver disease as a precaution. RABILITE LS CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, including children and adolescents (aged below 18 years).
The most common side effects of taking RABILITE LS CAPSULE are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, and headaches. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

How To Manage Side Effects
Bloating
Eat slowly and take smaller, more frequent meals, which can aid digestion and reduce gas formation. Exercise Regularly. Avoid common triggering foods like beans, lentils, carbonated beverages, fatty foods, and certain vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, and onions. Drinking plenty of water helps in the digestion process and can prevent constipation, which can contribute to flatulence. Take probiotics to help balance gut bacteria and improve digestion. Consult your doctor if flatulence persists.
Constipation
Increase fiber intake through fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Maintain regular meal times and avoid skipping meals. Exercise regularly to promote bowel movements. Establish a bathroom routine and avoid ignoring the urge to go. Avoid processed foods and prioritize probiotic-rich foods for gut health. Consult your doctor if constipation persists.
Diarrhea
Drink plenty of clear fluids, like water, diluted fruit juices, or oral rehydration solutions, to stay hydrated. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and very sugary drinks, as they can worsen dehydration. Eat bland foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. These are easy to digest and can help firm up the stools. Probiotics, found in yogurt or supplements, may help restore the balance of gut bacteria. Practice good hand hygiene to prevent the spread of infection. Consult your doctor if diarrhea worsens.
Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Ensure proper hydration, as dehydration can cause dizziness. Avoid excessive caffeine, alcohol, and high-sodium foods, which can exacerbate symptoms. Engage in physical therapy or vestibular rehabilitation exercises designed to improve balance and reduce dizziness. Move slowly when changing positions, such as standing up or lying down, to avoid triggering dizziness. Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga to manage stress, which can contribute to dizziness. Consult your doctor if dizziness persists.
Headache
Ensure adequate fluid intake, as dehydration can cause headaches. Maintain a consistent sleep schedule, aiming for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. Eat balanced meals at regular intervals to avoid blood sugar fluctuations that can trigger headaches. Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises to reduce stress levels. Engage in regular physical exercise, which can help reduce the frequency and severity of headaches. Apply a cold pack or warm compress to the forehead or neck to alleviate pain. Consult your doctor if a headache persists.
Stomach Pain
Avoid spicy or fatty foods, caffeine, or alcohol that may exacerbate symptoms. Eat a bland diet consisting of easily digestible foods like rice, bananas, applesauce, and toast. Applying a heating pad or taking a warm bath can also help soothe abdominal muscles and alleviate discomfort. Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated but avoid excessive consumption to prevent further irritation. If stomach pain persists, consult your doctor.
