Introduction About PSYLAX CAPSULE
Psylax Capsule is a laxative medicine used to manage occasional constipation. It contains Ispaghula husk as the active ingredient. Ispaghula husk (also known as Psyllium husk) is a plant-based dietary fibre that acts as a gentle bulk-forming laxative.
When combined with water, Ispaghula husk swells and forms a gel-like mass that lubricates the intestines and bulks up the stool volume. It also helps in retaining more water/fluid within the intestines which softens the hard stools, thus facilitating the easy transit of stools. By increasing the stool bulk, it also increases the tension in the bowel wall which may trigger bowel movements.
Take Psylax Capsule as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass full of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Taking this medicine without adequate fluid may cause choking. Do not take this medicine if you have difficulty in swallowing. Before taking Psylax Capsule inform your doctor if you have stomach pain, nausea, vomiting or a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over 2 weeks. Leave a time gap of at least 2 hours between Psylax Capsule and other medicine if you are prescribed with any.
