What is OTOCIN D?
- OTOCIN D contains Polymyxin-B sulfate, Chloramphenicol and Dexamethasone
What OTOCIN D is used for?
It is used to treat:
- surface ocular infections involving the conjunctiva and/or cornea
- superficial bacterial infections of the external auditory canal
- infections of mastoidectomy and fenestration cavities
- steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions
- chronic anterior uveitis and corneal injury from chemical, radiation or thermal burns, or penetration of foreign bodies

Talk to your doctor if you:
- are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have epithelial herpes keratitis (dendritic keratitis)
- have any viral disease of the cornea and conjunctiva
- have mycobacterial infections of the eye
- have fungal diseases of ocular structure
- This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine
- Consult your doctor for advice before using this medicine to your children
Do not drive or operate machinery while using this medicine, since it may cause blurred vision
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- atropine (anti-cholinergic)
- corticosteroid therapy
- phenytoin, phenobarbitone (used to treat epilepsy)
- rifampicin (used to treat infection)
- salicylates
- Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- For ophthalmic use only
If you use more OTOCIN D
- If you use more of this medicine, contact your doctor or go to a nearest hospital immediately
If you forget to use OTOCIN D
- If you forget a dose, use it as soon as you remember it, however if it is nearly time for the next dose skip the missed dose
- Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop using OTOCIN D
- Do not stop using this medicine without advice from your doctor
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- irritation, itching, redness of eyes
- blurred vision
- sensitivity to light
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children
- Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
