INTRODUCTION

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION is a combination of Sertaconazole and Mometasone which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-fungal and Topical corticosteroids respectively. ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION is used to treat fungal infections like athlete’s foot (infection between toes), jock itch (infection in the groin), ringworm, dry and flaky skin.

Fungal infection is a skin disorder in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection.

Avoid ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION getting in the eyes. Do not smoke or go near naked flames because of the risk of severe burns. Treated face areas need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Do not use this on the face for more than 5 days. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including your eyelids.

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use if you have infected skin lesions or any other skin problems. Consult your doctor for advice.

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION should be used with caution among women who are pregnant or breastfeeding unless it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor for advice.

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years of age and it should be used with caution in elderly patients.

The most common side effects of ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION are tingling or stinging sensation, redness, itching, dry skin, burning, blistering, swelling, drainage, and skin tenderness in the treated skin areas. Consult your doctor for advice if your side effects get worsen over time.

USES OF ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION

It is used to treat fungal infections such as:

HOW ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION WORKS

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION is a combination of Sertaconazole and Mometasone. Sertaconazole acts primarily by inhibiting the cytochrome P450-dependent synthesis of ergosterol (a key component of the cell membrane of fungi) and lack of this component leads to fungal cell injury, slowing the growth of fungi that cause infection.  Mometasone is a topical corticosteroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and severity of infection.

SIDE EFFECTS OF ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION

COMMON

  • tingling or stinging sensation
  • application site reactions (redness, itching, dry skin, burning, blistering, swelling, drainage, and skin tenderness)

UNCOMMON

  • formation of small nodules and pimples
  • thinning of the skin (skin atrophy)

RARE

  • treatment of large areas of the body can have an impact on the adrenal glands
  • excessive hair growth  

Stop applying ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • infection of the skin, or pus-filled boil/blisters
  • blurred vision or other visual disturbances
  • Cushing’s syndrome (symptoms such as rapid weight gain, especially of the trunk and face, and general weakness)
  • irritation or sensitization

BREASTFEEDING

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

ALLERGY

Do not use ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION if you are allergic to Sertaconazole, Mometasone or any other ingredients of this medicine.

OTHERS

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use if you have:

  • skin lesion  
  • skin problems like rosacea, acne, skin atrophy (thinning of the skin), dermatitis around the mouth, perianal and genital itching, nappy rash
  • bacterial infections  
  • viral infections  
  • an infection affecting the vagina that can cause discharge and itching
  • other skin infections
  • on open skin wounds or where the skin is ulcerated
  • recently had a reaction to vaccination (Ex. flu)

Use in paediatrics:

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use in children and adolescents less than 12 years of age. Your doctor will decide the right dose depending on your child’s age, body weight and severity of infection. Consult your doctor for advice before using ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION.

Use in geriatrics:

ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION should be used with caution in elderly patients (above 65 years of age). Consult with your doctor for advice before using it.

Before using ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION inform your doctor about all the medicines you take, including prescription, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.  

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally uses too much of ONABET SD TOPICAL SOLUTION or more often than you should, or on large areas of the body, it can affect some of your hormones. If you experience any unusual reactions, consult your doctor immediately or go to a nearby hospital.
