    Introduction About OMNIX XT SUSPENSION

OMNIX XT SUSPENSION contains Cefixime, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, sinus, respiratory tract (bronchus, lungs), urinary tract, genital tract, and biliary tract in children (aged between 6 months up to 12 years). It can also be used in the management of typhoid fever.

A bacterial infection can be defined as the proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria in the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body, including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, reproductive tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue, or bones.

Therapy with OMNIX XT SUSPENSION should be continued for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor, even if your child feels better during the midway of the therapy. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

Prior to the therapy, inform your doctor about the child’s pre-existing disease conditions, such as any stomach problems or kidney problems, as a precaution. The most common side effects of taking OMNIX XT SUSPENSION are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and bloating. If any of these side effects worsen in your child, please consult your doctor immediately.

    How OMNIX XT SUSPENSION Works

OMNIX XT SUSPENSION is a powerful antibiotic with bacteriostatic properties. It kills the susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall synthesis. Unlike other cephalosporins, it can also remain unaffected by the toxic proteins produced by the bacteria (such as beta-lactamases). Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, manage their further growth and multiplication, and reduce the severity of the infection.

How to use OMNIX XT SUSPENSION

Administer OMNIX XT SUSPENSION to your child as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.

Shake the bottle well to loosen the dry powder. Add the sterile water provided with this pack up to the ring mark present on the bottle surface. Add extra water if required to adjust the volume up to the ring mark. Close the bottle tightly and shake the mixture well.

The quantity (ml) that is required to be administered to your child will be decided by your doctor. Do not stop therapy with OMNIX XT SUSPENSION once the symptoms subside in your child. It is important to consume OMNIX XT SUSPENSION for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor to achieve better control over the infection.
