INTRODUCTION
NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS contains Oxymetazoline which belongs to the group of medicines called Nasal decongestants. It is used in new-borns and in infants (aged below 1 year) to treat nasal congestion, itching and discomfort caused due to common cold, sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses) or allergic rhinitis (an allergic condition).
Always use NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Do not use NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS for more than 10 days in your child without consulting your doctor.
Before using NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS inform your doctor if your child has heart problems or thyroid problems. You must also inform your doctor if your child has any other problems in the nasal tract apart from nasal congestion such as nasal inflammation, nasal dryness, or any recent surgery in the nose.
The most common side effects of using NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS are irritation or burning sensation after application and nasal dryness. Consult your doctor if they bother your child.
USES OF NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS
It is used in new-borns and in infants (aged below 1 year) to provide relief from:
- Nasal congestion (blocked nose)
- Symptoms of Allergic rhinitis (such as nasal itching, discomfort, runny nose)
- Sinusitis (inflammation of nasal passages)
HOW NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS WORKS
NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS opens and clears the nasal passages. It works by narrowing down the blood vessels supplying the nasal passage. This helps swollen blood vessels of the nasal tract to return to its normal size which allows the air to pass through the nostrils more freely. It also reduces excessive nasal secretions and provides temporary relief from nasal inflammation, swelling and discomfort.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always use NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only.
For Nasal Drops: Gently instil few drops of this medicine into each nostril. Clean the dropper after application.
For Nasal Spray: Insert the spray nozzle inside the affected nostril. Press the pump to release the spray and sniff at the same time. Repeat the same to the other nostril if required. Clean the nozzle after application.
To avoid possible spread of infection, this pack should only be used by a single person. Do not use NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS for more than 10 days without consulting your doctor. Discard the unused portion after 28 days of opening it.

Stop using NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if your child experiences any of the following side effects:

- restlessness, hallucination, and problems in sleeping
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Headache
Apply pain-relieving balm on your child’s forehead. Consult your doctor if headache worsens.
Nausea And Vomiting
Provide simple meals to your child. Make sure that they do not eat oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if nausea worsens.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
ALLERGY
ContraindicatedDo not use NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS if your child is allergic to Oxymetazoline or to any other ingredients of this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
Use with CautionNASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS should be used with caution in children with heart disease (such as hypertension, prolonged QT syndrome). Therefore, consult your doctor before administration.
USE IN PEDIATRICS

OTHERS
NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS is not recommended for use if your child:
- has any inflammation in the nasal passages
- recently had a neurosurgery or surgery in their nose
- has closed angle glaucoma (increased pressure within the eyes)
- has chronic nasal inflammation and nasal dryness (such as rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis)
- has phaeochromocytoma (a rare tumor of the adrenal glands)
Before using NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS inform your doctor if your child:
- has diabetes
- has hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland)
- is a pre-term baby
INTERACTIONS
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before using NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS, inform your doctor if your child is taking any of the following medicines:
- antidepressants (used to treat depression) such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (Ex. moclobemide, isocarboxazid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine), tricyclic antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline, nortriptyline), lithium, fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram, escitalopram etc
- medicines used to control blood pressure such as alpha blockers (Ex. prazosin, terazocin) or beta blockers (Ex. propranolol, atenolol)
- timolol, betaxolol (used to treat glaucoma in the eye)
Overdosage:
If your child accidentally swallowed the medicine or applied too much of NASIVION 0.01% MINI DROPS, consult your doctor immediately.
