INTRODUCTION

MUPIBACT 2% contains Mupirocin an antibiotic, which is used to treat secondarily infected traumatic skin lesions such as small lacerations, sutured wounds or abrasions due to susceptible strains of S. aureus and S. pyogenes.

Mupirocin which belongs to antibiotics produced through fermentation of Pseudomonas fluorescens which inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial isoleucyl t-RNA synthetase. It has bacteriostatic property at minimum inhibitory concentrations and bactericidal properties at the higher concentrations reached when applied locally.

Always use MUPIBACT 2%, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor, if you have or had any allergic, skin infections, are pregnant women or   breastfeeding mothers. The common side effects are hypersensitivity reactions, including urticaria, pruritus, erythema, burning sensation, contact dermatitis, rash (application site reactions). Avoid contact with eyes and nose, if accidentally gets, wash them thoroughly with water.

HOW MUPIBACT 2% WORKS

Mupirocin binds to bacterial isoleucyl transfer-RNA synthetase resulting in the inhibition of protein synthesis.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use MUPIBACT 2% as prescribed by your doctor. It is for external use only. It should be applied to the infected area of skin up to three times a day with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. Check the label for directions before use.

Do not use if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Mupirocin.

INTERACTIONS
