INTRODUCTION

MOLULOW 200 contains Molnupiravir which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiviral drugs. It is used in adults to treat mild to moderate COVID-19 disease who are at risk of developing severe illness.

COVID-19 is a highly infectious and spreading respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is characterized by symptoms such as fever, chills, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, weakness, body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, runny nose, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting.

MOLULOW 200 is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to molnupiravir. It should be used with caution in patients who are scheduled to undergo liver transplant surgery and in patients with chronic liver and kidney disease. Also, it is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age) and it should be used caution in elderly patients (aged above 60 years). HOW MOLULOW 200 WORKS

MOLULOW 200 reduces the risk of developing severe illness in mild to moderate COVID-19 disease, where molnupiravir works by converting into a metabolite that gets incorporated into the genetic material of the new virus that results in impaired ability of the virus to multiply/replicate its own copies leading to reduced viral load in the lungs thus preventing the risk of developing severe illness in the affected individuals.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take MOLULOW 200 as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Headache:

Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try taking rest in a quiet and dark room. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Dizziness:

Lie down until dizziness passes and get up slowly. Do not bend down suddenly. Get a lot of rest. Walk slowly and carefully. Take plenty of fluids. Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lot of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhoea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Nausea and vomiting:

Try to take MOLULOW 200 with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating fried, oily and spicy foods. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY

MOLULOW 200 is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Women with childbearing potential should use effective birth control while taking MOLULOW 200. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.  

BREASTFEEDING

MOLULOW 200 is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking MOLULOW 200.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Consult your doctor if MOLULOW 200 affects your ability to drive or operative machines.

KIDNEY

MOLULOW 200 should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as chronic kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking MOLULOW 200.

LIVER

MOLULOW 200 should be used with caution in patients with chronic liver disease and in patients planned for liver transplant surgery. Consult your doctor before taking MOLULOW 200.

ALLERGY

Do not take MOLULOW 200 if you are allergic to molnupiravir or any other ingredients of this medicine. Consult your doctor before taking MOLULOW 200.

Use in Paediatrics:

MOLULOW 200 is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age). Consult child’s doctor for advice.
