    Introduction About METROBEX 1% GEL

    METROBEX 1% GEL contains Metronidazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiprotozoal drugs. It helps to control infection and inflammation in certain skin problems, such as rosacea (skin redness and flushing with or without small red pus-filled pustules on the skin) and acne. It is also helpful in the management of wound infections, diabetic foot ulcers and vaginal infections.

    METROBEX 1% GEL is for external use only. Cleanse and dry the affected areas before applying the medicine. Do not expose the managed areas in direct sunlight. Wear protective clothing and consult your doctor for a suitable sunscreen while going outdoors.

    Before using METROBEX 1% GEL, inform your doctor if you are suffering from any kind of blood disorders (Ex. blood dyscrasias) or neurological disorders (such as nerve damage). You must also inform your doctor if you suffer from any allergic skin conditions (such as contact dermatitis) as a precaution.

    Do not use METROBEX 1% GEL without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of using METROBEX 1% GEL are skin dryness, redness, itching and/or irritation at the site of application. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect bothers you.

    Uses Of METROBEX 1% GEL

    It is used to control infections and inflammatory lesions associated with:

    • Rosacea (skin redness and flushing with or without small red pus-filled pustules on the skin)
    • Acne
    • Diabetic foot ulcers
    • Wounds that have severe inflammation, redness and odour
    • Vaginal infections

    How METROBEX 1% GEL Works

    METROBEX 1% GEL is an antiprotozoal agent with antibacterial properties. It works by killing the susceptible germs that cause infections in the body. When applied on the skin, it destroys the infection causing germs and manages their further growth and multiplication which therefore reduces the severity of the infection.

    How to use METROBEX 1% GEL

    Always apply METROBEX 1% GEL as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Apply a thin layer of METROBEX 1% GEL on the affected areas. Wash your hands before and after application.

    Avoid contact of METROBEX 1% GEL with eyes, ears, mouth, or nose. In case of accidental contact, rinse it with plenty of warm water. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your skin condition.

    Common

    • numbness and tingling in fingers and toes
