KCIM DT 50 TABLET contains Cefixime, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, sinus, respiratory tract (bronchus, lungs), urinary tract, biliary tract, and genital tract. It can also be used in the management of typhoid fever.

How KCIM DT 50 TABLET Works
KCIM DT 50 TABLET is a powerful antibiotic with bacteriostatic properties. It kills the susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall synthesis. Unlike other cephalosporins, it can also remain unaffected by the toxic proteins produced by the bacteria (such as beta-lactamases). Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, manage their further growth and multiplication, and reduce the severity of the infection.
How to use KCIM DT 50 TABLET
Take KCIM DT 50 TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.
For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow KCIM DT 50 TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the medicine immediately after reconstitution.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight, and severity of the infection.
Do not stop taking KCIM DT 50 TABLET once your symptoms subside. It is important to take KCIM DT 50 TABLET for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor to achieve control over the infection.

- Unusual bleeding or bruising, bleeding from the nose or gums with pale skin, tiredness, chills, and shortness of breath
- Bloody urine or difficulties in urination
- Signs of brain damage (such as fits with or without confusion, lack of alertness, and unusual muscle movements)
- Signs of stomach damage causing severe uncontrollable watery diarrhea, feeling weak, and fever
How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea
Drink plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juice, to keep yourself hydrated. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If your diarrhea worsens, contact your doctor immediately.

Nausea And Vomiting
