    Introduction About ITRAL EYE DROPS

ITRAL EYE DROPS contains Itraconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungals. It is used to manage fungal eye infections which includes fungal keratitis/mycotic corneal ulcer (corneal infection), fungal conjunctivitis (fungal infection of conjunctiva) and keratomycosis (invasive corneal infection of eye). ITRAL EYE DROPS is also used to manage corneal ulcers caused by a fungus, aspergillus fumigatus.

Fungal eye infection is a condition that affects the deeper layers of the cornea or leads to formation of scar that affects the vision which is generally characterized by symptoms such as eye pain, eye redness, blurred vision or sensitivity to light.

ITRAL EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to itraconazole. Before using ITRAL EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing diseases, scheduled for any upcoming surgery, kidney problems or liver problems.

ITRAL EYE DROPS should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.

If you experience any side effects or unusual effects during management with this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.

    Uses Of ITRAL EYE DROPS

    • Manage fungal eye infections which includes fungal keratitis/mycotic corneal ulcer (corneal infection), fungal conjunctivitis (fungal infection of conjunctiva) and keratomycosis (invasive corneal infection of eye)
    • Manage corneal ulcers caused by a fungus (called aspergillus fumigatus)

    How ITRAL EYE DROPS Works

ITRAL EYE DROPS works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis (an organic compound responsible for maintaining cell membrane integrity of fungi cell) that leads to fungal cell membrane abnormalities (marked with increased permeability and disruption of fungi cell) thus causing destruction to the fungi cell and managing the occurrence of fungal infections in affected individuals.

How to use ITRAL EYE DROPS

Use ITRAL EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands with soap/hand sanitizer. Tilt your head back and slightly pull your lower eyelid down to form a small pocket. Hold the bottle over your eye and place the dropper as closer as possible without touching the eye. Look up and squeeze the bottle to release a single drop onto your eye. Close your eye gently and try to avoid blinking, moving your eyeball or squeezing your eyelids.
