INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE contains Indomethacin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs. It is used to reduce swelling and treat moderate to severe inflammatory diseases of the joints (such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and degenerative hip disease), pain & stiffness in the backbone (ankylosing spondylitis).
It also treats sprains & strains, post-operative pain, lower back pain, pain due to periods, gout (joint pain), and acute painful shoulder (such as bursitis, tendinitis). During treatment with INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE, your doctor might advise you to take certain tests.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with angioneurotic oedema (condition marked by swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), have or had signs of peptic ulcer/bleeding in the stomach/intestine (black tarry stools), nasal obstruction (due to nasal polyps), severe liver, kidney, or heart problems.
Before taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE inform your doctor if you have a history of high blood pressure or congestive heart failure, bleeding or blood clotting disorder, mental health problem, epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease (tremor, stiffness and shuffling) or severe infection.
Also inform your doctor if you have fluid retention which may be caused by diseases of the heart or kidneys, history of asthma, gastrointestinal diseases (ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), diabetes, problem with the circulation in the legs, decreased amount of fluid in body or are going to have surgery.
Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE. INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant women (especially during the last 3 months of pregnancy) and in breastfeeding women.
This medicine is not recommended for use in children aged below 14 years. It should be used with caution in elderly patients. The most common side effect of taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is a mild headache. Contact your doctor if the symptoms worsen.

INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE works by preventing the function of enzyme cyclooxygenase-1 and 2 which leads to the stopping of prostaglandins synthesis (chemical substances responsible for pain & inflammation) that results in reduced inflammatory reactions and relief from pain.
Take INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE with a glass of water/milk, with or immediately after food. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.
Stop taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Headache:
Apply a hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try to rest in a quiet and dark room. Massage on the scalp or head with mild pressure. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use during the last three months of pregnancy.
It can be used with caution during the first six months of pregnancy if recommended by your doctor.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE.
Do not drive or operate any machines while taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE as it may cause drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness or vision problems. Consult your doctor before taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE as it may increase the risk of ulcers and bleeding in the stomach.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems or advanced renal disease.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment. Consult your doctor before taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver problems. INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. Consult your doctor before taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE.
Do not take INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE if you are allergic to Indomethacin or any other ingredient of this medicine, or other NSAIDS such as aspirin, ibuprofen. Consult your doctor before taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with lung problems such as asthma. Consult your doctor before taking INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE.
INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart problems. INDOCAP SR 75MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with heart problems such as high blood pressure, congestive heart failure. Consult your doctor for advice.
