GRANIFORCE SYRUP contains a medicine Granisetron which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-emetics. It is used to prevent or treat nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting (being sick) caused by other medical treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer and after surgery.
Before taking GRANIFORCE SYRUP inform your doctor if you have heart diseases, blockage in your stomach or intestines, electrolyte abnormalities, galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
GRANIFORCE SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult with your doctor before taking. GRANIFORCE SYRUP should not be used in children below 2 years of age. GRANIFORCE SYRUP can be used in elderly people (65 years and older). However, consult with your doctor before taking.
The most common side effects are headache, constipation, problems sleeping (insomnia) and diarrhoea. Consult with your doctor if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.
Prevents or treats:
GRANIFORCE SYRUP acts by inhibiting a receptor called 5-HT3 receptors present which present both in brain and gastrointestinal tract. This inhibition of 5-HT3 receptors in turn inhibits the stimulation of the vomiting centre, preventing nausea and vomiting.
Always take GRANIFORCE SYRUP as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a plenty of water and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your conditions.
Stop taking GRANIFORCE SYRUP and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Diarrhoea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. Ask for your doctor’s advice if diarrhoea doesn’t improve.
Headache:
Try to take rest and don’t involve yourself in exertive activities. Rest in a quiet and dark room. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead. Ask for your doctor’s advice if headache doesn’t improve.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as vegetables, fresh fruits and cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. Ask for your doctor’s advice if constipation doesn’t improve.
GRANIFORCE SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
GRANIFORCE SYRUP is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
GRANIFORCE SYRUP should not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
Do not take GRANIFORCE SYRUP if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Granisetron or any other ingredients of this medicine.
GRANIFORCE SYRUP should be used with caution in patients suffering from heart diseases. Consult your doctor for advice before taking GRANIFORCE SYRUP.
