    Introduction About GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION

    GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION contains Glutathione which belongs to the group of medicines called Antioxidants. It is used to manage alcoholic fatty liver (disease that occurs due to heavy alcohol use), liver fibrosis/cirrhosis (scarring of liver due to excessive consumption of alcohol), and hepatitis (inflammation of liver) in affected individuals.

    GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Glutathione. Before receiving GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION, inform your doctor if you suffer from liver problems (such as chronic hepatitis), and kidney problems (such as acute renal failure).

    GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless it is clearly necessary. It should be used with caution in neonates, premature infants, children, and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 70 years and above) after consulting the doctor.

    The most common side effects of receiving GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION are anorexia (eating disorder), nausea, vomiting, and/or rash. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

    Uses Of GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION

    Manage:

    • Alcoholic fatty liver (disease that occurs due to heavy alcohol use)
    • Liver fibrosis/cirrhosis (scarring of liver tissue due to excessive consumption of alcohol)
    • Hepatitis (inflammation of liver) in affected individuals

    How GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION Works

    GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION is an antioxidant which works by directly quenching reactive hydroxyl free radicals or other free radicals which manages damage to the liver cells thus managing alcoholic liver disease in affected individuals.

    How to use GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION

    GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion or into the muscle as an intramuscular injection. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of management depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION

    Common

    • anorexia (eating disorder)
    • nausea, vomiting.
    • rash

    Rare

    Stop receiving GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION and consult your doctor immediately in case you experience:

    • unusual symptoms such as eruption, pale face, low blood pressure, and/or difficulty while breathing

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Receive GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION with/just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich/spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, and drink slowly in between meals. Consult your doctor if the condition worsens.

    GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with liver problems such as chronic hepatitis B. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine.

    Allergy

    Do not receive GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION if you are allergic to Glutathione, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Others

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before receiving GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • vitamin K (used for blood clot and healing wounds)
    • vitamin B12 (used to form red blood cells)
    • calcium pantothenate (used to increase hair growth)
    • antihistamines (medicines used for management of allergic reactions) Ex. cetirizine, chlorpheniramine.

    GLUTAONE 600 INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms.
